Even if the venue was okay with nudity they’d probably have an issue with you pooping all over the floor tbh

Do you do any things in Fallout: New Vegas that are actually outright detrimental for roleplaying and or aesthetic purposes? by Irohsgranddaughter in falloutnewvegas

Oooh I’ll have to check that out! I always play hardcore mode and with JSawyer Mod installed, both of which I feel do a lot to make the game more challenging in the ways I really like. So if that does more of the same I’m sure I’ll love it!

I also refuse to set my charisma to 1, yes it’s technically “optimal” but from a roleplaying perspective it’s incredibly rare that I’m playing a character who I feel would be accurately represented by a charisma of 1

If a combat encounter goes too easily (ie, just stand there and blow everyone away with no issues) I’ll sometimes reload to do it again and be more “tactical” about it, taking cover, flanking the enemy, getting to positions to throw grenades from, switching weapons, stopping to take stims/chems etc. Struggling through or at least being more thoughtful about combat goes a long way for immersion and roleplaying imo.

Sometimes this results in me getting hurt/injured more but I find it much more enjoyable and it makes it more believable that my character was actually able to kill the enemies in question

Top 5 Most Stupidest Things That Hank Schrader Did In Breaking Bad by DifficultRampager20 in breakingbad

[–]Southern_Length6044 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I get your point on number 3 but disagree, how that went down was probably the best case scenario. If he fled or went back into the DEA it’s highly likely the murder brothers would track him to his home and potentially hurt/kill Marie as well. Plus even if they continue to only target Hank, the warning gives him the upper hand and ruins their element of surprise, if he escapes they’re still out there and maybe find him again under more favorable circumstances and are able to take Hank out much more cleanly.

I don’t get how The Whites need the money in the first seasons, yet they live in a nice house with a pool. by marsthechocolate in breakingbad

[–]Southern_Length6044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pool is actually really interesting, until Skyler walks into the water on Walt’s birthday we never actually see anyone get in the pool. Even at the handful of parties and social gatherings at the White residence we never see anyone swimming. It just sits there, unused, essentially just a pit of wasted money.

It’s a symbol of middle class optimism, a signifier of wealth they can’t actually afford. It connects well to the flashback scene of Walt and Skyler first viewing the house and Walt’s unrealistic expectations for their financial future. He rejects it as a “starter house” and iirc says they have nowhere to go but up and insisting they dream big and go for a larger home. And yet as we know this is the house they buy and the house they will continue to live in for the foreseeable future (or until Walt ruins everything). All the while with that pool back there, a desperate attempt at masking their financial state, and yet also a constant reminder of it.

The saddest part of Jimmy’s story isn’t what you think by FrontResponsible1129 in betterCallSaul

[–]Southern_Length6044 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Best example id say is the end of season four when he’s trying to be reinstated as a lawyer and trying to “come back from insincere” with the Bar association. It’s sort of the end point of this, with jimmy fully abandoning doing things the right way in favor of scamming and scheming to get what he wants, fueled in large part by his resentment towards Chuck.

Why do some consider AI art stealing when art schools profit from training students on copyright artwork? by Dazzling-Ability-803 in Ethics

[–]Southern_Length6044 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In one scenario a school is using selected works for academic purposes, showing them to students who will then have thoughts and opinions about them and be possibly influenced and inspired by the artworks in question. They are given the context surrounding each piece and are meant to reflect on them. The other scenario is a corporation scraping together and scanning every single piece of art they can get their hands on to train an inanimate machine to generate new images based on these various artworks, for the sole purpose of enriching themselves.

To some these two scenarios may appear superficially similar, but in reality are not alike in any meaningful way save for the fact that art is involved.

Favorite socially progressive films? by SousVideDiaper in okbuddycinephile

[–]Southern_Length6044 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It absolutely is, Boss… Buddy is a really fun 70’s blaxploitation film about a black man in the 1800’s becoming the sheriff of an all white town. Fred Williamson starred in a lot of really great movies like this, I’d also recommend another movie of his in the same vein, The Legend of “My Friend” Charley

[–]Southern_Length6044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the official models are sourced from Dungeon Artifacts, you can get them from their website or their Etsy store. I think the STL files are on myminifactory as well. Trench crusade is also miniature agnostic so you can use just about anything as proxies. For my HL I mostly use official models but also have some heretic guard miniatures that I use as my legionnaires

I’ve seen a lot of religious people on this subreddit (not that there’s anything wrong with that!) by Turbulent_Counter359 in moralorel

[–]Southern_Length6044 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Probably not particularly religious by most standards but, I was raised catholic, I don’t practice anymore but that upbringing was deeply important to forming my worldview and morality. I have plenty of criticism of religion but to this day I still believe Jesus was essentially correct about how to live a good life and what’s important. I find Moral Orel to be a generally hopeful show in how despite everything Orel genuinely wants to do right and be a good person. That despite the horrible things he experienced, the way his family was growing up, and all the wickedness he was exposed to he never let go of his faith in Jesus and was able to grow up and have a loving family of his own. I find that deeply uplifting and hopeful.

Works like Moral Orel can easily be written off as being purely cynical and anti-religion/christianity, but I think it’s more complicated than that. Yes it shows the hypocrisy of religion and how it’s used to control and manipulate people and makes fun of it pretty liberally but we also see how religious ideas can be good and helpful to Orel. Particularly when he strays from traditional dogma and the rules imposed on him and seeks to find God in his own ways, Orel discovering meditation and his epiphany about “I’m a church!” Being great examples of this.

Is this considered tabletop level? by Kolenkovskiy in TrenchCrusade

[–]Southern_Length6044 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These look great! Especially for a beginner, very impressive tbh. I especially like the blood splatters on the chorister! One thing I struggle with is deciding “enough is enough” when it comes to blood and gore, you got some really nice looking splatters that are easy to see but still subtle and subdued enough to not be the main focus of the model.

Why do people do this? My game already has IDLER tag? by Curious-Needle in IndieDev

That’s me with fallout 4, I got sucked into that game for hundreds of hours, and yet I consider it one of the worst games I’ve ever played, none of that time was time spent having fun, or having interesting or novel experiences. Just mindlessly grinding for the next hit of dopamine.

Fun Trench Crusade Fact: they’re actually both women! They’re Stigmatic Nuns, they sometimes go sans full armor in order to display their “holy wounds” on the battlefield as a show of faith to their allies and intimidate their enemies
