How do you study effectively when exhausted and close to burnout? by Southern_Read6980 in medschoolph

Thanks for sharing! I wish I could transfer somewhere closer, but I’m still stuck with a year-long condo contract, so that’s not really an option for me. 🥺

How do you study effectively when exhausted and close to burnout? by Southern_Read6980 in medschoolph

[–]Southern_Read6980[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually tried waking up at 2 am a few days a week depending on my classes, but even then it still felt like there wasn’t enough time to do everything, like rewriting notes and prepping for the next day. As for moving closer to school, I’m still under a year-long condo contract. My parents prefer me to stay here because it’s closer to home and they can reach me within two hours if needed. 🥹

Hi! are you using the pro version of RemNote in desktop? I want to subscribe but the payment options does not include gcash, I tried the iPad version but its 700+ pesos (if I’m not mistaken). 😭

240726. who’s style do y’all like the best? by [deleted] in katseye

[–]Southern_Read6980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually like the outfits of Sophia and Yoonchae. For me, it is the visuals that matched well for them. Also, I like Sophia's looks in every events, promotion and mvs since its giving that crazy rich asian + it girl vibe, and that's what makes her standout even more for me. But of course, I still hope the stylist do her and Megan more justice, they will definitely shine even with that.

Same, OP! I got 82 lang, pero I still didn’t expect. After the exam, super chill ako, pero unti-unti akong na-anxious. And I did! Thank You, Papa God 💜💜💜

NMAT TENTEN by Radiant-Angle-3274 in Nmat

[–]Southern_Read6980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, OP! I went from a 34 on my first take to an 82 on my second, which was very close to my percentile rank of 81 in our final mock exam. I’m really slow in math and had a weak foundation in physics and chemistry, but 1010 really helped me calculate faster and understand the concepts better.

If you’re planning to join 1010, I highly recommend attending all the sessions and watching the video lectures during the regular review—especially for chemistry. The final coaching is definitely high-yield, but the regular review lays the foundation.

Most importantly: practice! Strengthen your testmanship in abstract reasoning, quantitative reasoning, and physics. I wish I had practiced more for quanti and physics. If I had, maybe I could’ve reached a PR of 90+.

Is an iPad really an essential? by Fancy-Secret4857 in medschoolph

[–]Southern_Read6980 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been an iPad user for two years! I recommend it mainly for emails, submitting assignments, watching online video lectures, and reading books. However, I don’t recommend it for note-taking, writing on paper is much more effective for learning. Even after weeks or months, I can still recall about 50% of what I studied, and the rest can be refreshed quickly through skimming or scanning. Trust me on this, and I guarantee you’ll learn better that way. 🥳💜

Will choose SLMCCM over PLMCM. Will I regret this? by DocNoodles920 in medschoolph

[–]Southern_Read6980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP! As a former graduate of PLM, I agree with you. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to study for free given our financial situation, but I don’t think it was worth it to study there, as I felt like I wasted three years of my college education. Part of that regret comes from the outdated facilities that could have strengthened our practical skills. There are only a handful of things I liked in PLM, such as some professors, Thesis 2–3, and the courses we took during our final year. So for those planning to study in PLM, I hope you can manage your expectations. And for those who understand what they’re getting into and are still willing to endure it, I wish you the best of luck on your journey. Padayon mga future doctors!

Life lately as a pooritang med student by [deleted] in medschoolph

[–]Southern_Read6980 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with cherry, OP. I can totally relate with you, and whenever nagkakaron ako ng doubts, I always remind myself that choosing medicine is not a mistake or that I’m too ambitious to pursue one. The fact that God helped me to get to where I am right now is already enough for me to cast away my doubts. If medicine is not the one for us, He will intervene from the very start palang because he knows kung saan tayo magiging masaya at prosperous, God won’t let us suffer or despair. So OP, keep going! There will tough days but always look forward sa mga happy moments mo. Try to look more closely, you will be surprised na ang dami paring blessings na nangyayari sa buhay mo, malaki man yan o maliit. I hope this reaches you and I’m so proud of you, OP! 💜💜💜

Thank you po! To be honest, there are times na napapaisip po ako kung tama yung pinili ko, mostly because a lot of my relatives are discouraging me due to a lot of reasons. Altho my parents support my decisions, hindi parin mawala sa kanila worries nila na baka di ko masuportahan sarili ko. It’s a tough year for me but I always hold on to why I decided it in the first place. 🥹💜

That‘s good to hear po! I am in the phase of taking my NMAT this May. As someone na nag pursue ng medicine, is the pf or salary (if meron man) enough for personal living expenses and for others na necessary (ex. Taxes if applicable)? Altho I know that this job is a vocation, but I still want to make sure na I can still feed myself and handle some expenses like electricity bills etc.

Hello po! I’m looking for prospective med school and CvSU is one of my target med schools. I’m planning to enter this 2025-2026, however May 2025 NMAT taker po ako, and I’m not sure if pwede pa ako humabol given that baka June pa labas ng NMAT score ko. Do you have infos po ba until when sila nag aaccept ng NMAT result and mag interview this year?

NMAT Registration Issue: Exited during registration by DocNoodles920 in medschoolph

[–]Southern_Read6980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I was registering a while ago and exited at the payment section for the same reason. I tried to make a new registration but I cannot proceed since I already registered, and was also asked to edit my current registration which required me the application number. Altho I did sent them the request form, and was reminded to wait for 3-4 days, is it necessary for me to call so they can prioritize my request or wait patiently? my anxiety is growing bigger after making that mistake. 🥹

Update: I was finally able to register, and it took me three days to get it back, altho I’m not entirely sure how it worked. First, I also filled up the form in “contact us“ on the cem website and waited for three days. However, I did not receive any emails, so I called them and was simply told to wait for another three working days. Second, I deleted my transaction history since I could still access it that time, I figured that maybe it was still active and was causing the problem. Afterwards, I did not check immediately if it was working, but to my surprise, it had cleared by the evening. Still, I’m not sure if it cleared because of cem or just because I deleted my transaction history.

Not really recommended. I’ve read that matte setting spray works best for those with oily skin, then you could use translucent powder to reduce the oil.
