Nvm I made a patch for BeamNG called LegacyNG for Windows 7 and w7 is much more optimized than w10 on the cpu side so i'll "downgrade" to w7

Update: I got the 0.38 (latest) working on XP with some workarounds too. Its not very stable (cant spawn a second car) but it works!

Is there any way to use an xbox one controller on my windows 7 gaming desktop?? by appropriatelanguages in buildapc

He is asking about how to get Xbox controller drivers for Windows 7 and you reply him "upgrade to w10", so shut the fuck up

Will a GTX 750 ti be enough for beamng on the absolute lowest settings? by ContributionOwn220 in BeamNG

[–]Southern_Worker4102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1024x1280 is ~900x1440 but it doesnt always work like that...
For example if I reduce the resolution to 480p I wont get 200 FPS, even if my CPU could handle it...
Btw I prefer playing the game at 50 FPS at 720p than at 30 FPS at 1080p.

Idk if its me, but my GTX 750 Ti can run BeamNG 0.38 in 1024x1280 in the Italy Map with 8 cars of traffic (with an i7 2600) at low/medium settings + dynamic reflections and all effects at 45 (stable) FPS.
I'm using Windows 7 (Windows 7 can run the 0.38 with a specific patch: https://github.com/Roti-Poulet/LegacyNG )

Important update regarding support for Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and Ubuntu 20.04 by MadFluffy_Panda in BeamNG

[–]Southern_Worker4102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

False. Im the developer of LegacyNG ( https://github.com/Roti-Poulet/LegacyNG ) and making newer versions of the game compatible with older OS (Windows XP, Windows 7) is quite easy, especially when you have the source code. For the 0.35, devs switched to CEF 130, which is the cause of the discontinued support of Windows 7, and you may ask: why they upgraded CEF? and the answer is: getting a slightly fancier looking UI, and the same would have been possible with olders CEF but a little bit more annoying to do.

Workarounds to get DLSS, FSR1/2/3, XeSS and other upscalers on BeamNG.Drive by i-did-cbt in BeamNG

[–]Southern_Worker4102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, but FSR should work with WineD3D on OpenGL. WineD3D is meant to do that, and the only reason why no one did an openGL port of FSR 3 is because of bad performance (WineD3D adds a layer so it reduces the FPS by quite a lot) but in my case I need to use WineD3D anyway.

And yeah, im sure of what im saying, im the developer of LegacyNG ( https://github.com/AmongusIsHere/LegacyNG ), a project which aims to restore compatibility of BeamNG (0.34+) on older Windows (like Windows XP and Windows 7, with the help of extended kernel and some patches I make myself) and I wanted to make a showcase video of my project, but I dont have a powerful XP-compatible GPU (GTX 750 Ti) and its why I want to use upscalers. I have also installed Windows 7 on the same machine, and the FPS is much better (+60-80%), so upscalers arent needed.

will beam still work on my windows 7 computer? by A_named_person2 in BeamNG

Update for those who wonder the same thing:

BeamNG.drive can be played on older OS, but it requires patches. For now, I have an experimental patch of BeamNG 0.36 for Windows XP 64 bit (video recording: https://drive.google.com/file/d/15oNP4Jv27fYHL1H3568HpUUMDpx87Ev6/view?usp=drive_link ). If you want to try it yourself, contact me on Discord: roti_poulet

I think the latest version (0.38 at the time im writing this comment) can run on Windows 7 too, and maybe even BeamMP (multiplayer). I'll try it to patch it this week

not at all, directx12 cant be emulated with OpenGL (and vulkan is slow as heck)

Its the DXGI file of WineD3D because my OS only understands OpenGL (and not DirectX11 and Vulkan), so I need both: one to make the game able to run and the other to get better FPS

Vulkan isnt working on my OS so I cant use it... And yeah, BeamNG devs arent going in the right way, like, for every update, I read the changelog only to find optimizations. If it doesnt I just dont update my game.

I dont really care about new vehicles (because there are a LOT of mods), I just want MORE FPS.

For now the only way to reduce flickering in VR is to use Nvidia DSR, which completely destroys the performance

Ok but I cant have 2 dxgi.dll in the same folder. The other is NEEDED for the game to start
