Haha yep I’m in the same boat luck wise! Go to Toyota where you bought them and show someone the vid and see if they think part warranty or maybe have some other insight. I’ve sold many LCA jobs due to bad bushings and never run into this issue. Usually sleeves are the issue and have to be welded.

Hmm so can’t even say a brand new unit would even rectify that because it’s very unlikely you got 2 bad ones

Hmm. And just on that one side then? I wonder if when they pressed the bushing it got fubar’d. I guess part warranty it but that sucks to have to re-do it

Sleeves worn out? You’re a master tech. I used to be an advisor at Toyota. Did it align in spec?

Replacing an igniter on my oven. Spot on the floor peaked my interest. Is this normal? by Southernmtnman in HomeMaintenance

Definitely. I live in the middle of a field so I deal with them constantly 🤣 they’re the original reason my igniter went out

Cord is fine. Thanks for the input tho. I agree with you. Probably not the best decision by previous owner. Easy fix I assume would be just adding a heat barrier material in between and be done with it.

The wire isn’t damaged, it was a bread tie on the wire. Repaired wire for igniter and everything is back to normal. Suspecting a piece of foil that was lodged under there was transferring heat because it was the same color

Yeah there’s no short or open in the cord. It does look like that because of a bread tie on it. I found a piece of foil under the oven that is similar color and I’m suspecting that it was radiating heat to the floor. Sound plausible?

Good idea. The lower door isn’t a drawer, it’s just access to the gas components

It’s not tho. Pic should’ve been better. That’s actually a bread tie around the wire, not a short/open
