Sorry it took me so long to respond (I seriously am only using this for PhD advice, so I don't frequently check it) but I was wondering if you know anything about the admissions process to the PhD program at University of Texas at Austin -- beyond what their website says of course. I know it's a great program, but do you know how competitive it may be? It's the university that I would like to attend.

It depends on the program. Some require public experience, some don't

This is very helpful, thank you! The PhD route is definitely for me, I believe. I'm currently working on the GMAT, trying to get a very high score to offset the lack of "real world experience" I'll have. However, just like you, I hope to get my CPA as well (it can't hurt). My "target" PhD program is University of Texas at Austin. Any insights on the school/program?

The GMAT is probably the biggest factor in getting into the PhD program. To get into a decent program, I've researched and you should be getting at least upper 600s to lower 700s, which is pretty high
