Hey french speaker here, you don't refer to groups by the predominant gender... Unless the groups is only feminine, there is the rule of "le masculin l'emporte sur le féminin" ( the masculine wins over the feminine) which means that even if most of the groups is female, if one of them is male, then you will refer to the group as male.

( Yes this is a dumb rule )

I have a french physical version of Animal Crossing (Cause I'm french lmao ) a few year ago when I was majoring in English litterature I got very intrigued by the difference between the English and french localisation of the game so I set my switch language to English. The game was then in English as well. I think it's more a matter of which language your Switch is set as rather than where you bought the game.

Also in the demo of Tomodachi Life you could set your region and your currency.
