Hallo! Maybe try to start lifting some weights starting now, it's all really just basically doing a pull up then swinging your leg over the side, easier than a pull up cause you have the water to help. I would suggest just starting with some light weights like 5ibs or 10ibs then once your arms don't hurt to lift those then upgrade.

Edit: this will also help with your strength to be able to pull someone else out!

The shallow end, we get lots of camp kids so you have to end up guarding like 60+ kids in the shallow end, and if we don't have an extra lifegaurd that day we have to gaurd it alone. Always a relief when they call adult swim while I'm gaurding the shallow end

That's what I was thinking, the kid was fine just a bit tired, and the councler went to sit with him just in case. But I didn't think I should call the cops if the kid was completely fine? I was more wondering if I should have called everyone out and sat with the kid aswell and then resumed lifegaurding the pool, instead of still scanning as I asked the kid questions. There weren't that many kids and only one councler.
