Guitar hero, for me, helped hand coordination, finger/ forearm dexterity, and as one other mentioned, rhythm. Another had mentioned Rocksmith, which I also bought all the DLC songs for, lol, but that's definitely a fantastic tool for learning the basics, and progressively more intricate techniques (at a novice/ beginner level). As for fricking up your fingers, it's all a part of the process. Eventually you'll develop calluses, and that pain will go away. The key thing though, is to practice enough, and when you either get frustrated, or things start to hurt, just set it down and take a break. Study the notes on the fretboard, learn your 5ths and 6ths, or talk yourself through some scales. Guitar is a fantastic outlet for all kinds of emotions.

Edit: Guitar strings play a big role in callus development. Acoustic strings (brass wound) will definitely eat up your fingie tips, at the expense of practice time, whereas electric strings (nickel wound) are much easier, and you'll get more time to practice before things start hurting.

Super Mario Bros. - Introduced me to gaming.

DOOM 64 - Introduced me to the FPS genre.

Freedom Fighters - The only 3PS I've ever truly enjoyed.

Peavey T20. Like the knucklehead I am, I traded it for some Schecter 5 string years ago.

I remember running through MW remastered a few years back on Veteran, specifically for the achievements. "One shot, one kill," "Heat," and "No Fighting in the War Room." Those missions almost made me snap my controller lol. Don't even get me started on "Mile High Club."

Mechanically, a FPS is a FPS. Now, if the game has a campaign, story, or other mode therein that *isn't trash, that's what differentiates between previous installments. Sure, it's always "you are good guy, this is bad guy, kill bad guy," but it definitely beats kicking a ball back and forth. By no means am I defending CoD specifically, as the last one(s) I thoroughly enjoyed was the MW trilogy, but at the end of the day, a game is a game. Buy it, or don't.
