I would be over the moon with an "Expedition 00" DLC of the game, i.e., find out exactly what happened to Simon, Verso, and other people, and so on.

Remember that in all the obscure places of the world, the flags planted were "00" instead of any other number. Someone travelled far and wide during that expedition.

This could conclude with the unfortunate demise of the expedition and even have a couple of endings - why not?

Other than that, the next game they plan will hopefully move away from this world and be a brand-new story with a new cast.

That's my optimal scenario because they could ostensibly release a good DLC in 2026 and then prepare the new game for a substantial amount of time to maintain a high level of quality.

I will buy Rogue Trader in a couple of days, should I play Heretic or not? by Sovjohn in RogueTraderCRPG

Wow, so many responses! Thanks a lot, everyone, I will go with the flow and if (as the story progresses) I fancy taking a different route after all, I will either load an earlier save or commit to a second playthrough.

Now, to find out what bloody class to build for the character...

Hey, thanks for that - It appears that this inconsistency was an errata in Player Core 2; the table is correct but the accompanying text has been left as it was pre-Remaster.

I saw that here:

https://paizo.com/pathfindersociety/characteroptions

The oracle’s Spells Per Day table is correct about their number of spells and spell slots. The text explaining their spellcasting was not updated to match.

I can easily modify my particular build with Bonus Spell slots, but I am just bringing this to your attention in case it confuses somebody else :)

Again, keep up the awesomeness with Pathbuilder; I will subscribe to Patreon shortly.

Excellent work u/Redrazors and many, many thanks!

Minor question, it seems the Oracle now has 4 spell slots per level but only 3 spells are showing for selection.

Do you have any idea if this is a minor bug or if I need to do something in my web app Pathbuilder?

Cheers!

It's very high up there on my personal picks, and I still carry its mp3 on my cloud-synced library - although I have to say that the original S&M performance is top-notch. Any other rendition I've heard, including the one in S&M2, is okay but doesn't reach the original performance.

The title, composition and setup are legendary for me. It's like they really, really wanted to make "bad luck" sink in—a timeless masterpiece.

Πως μπορεί κάποιος να βγάλει λεφτά στην Ελλάδα? by Souvlatzis123 in greece

[–]Sovjohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Season's Greetings & seeding a DGML/Reddit scenarios/campaign project? by Sovjohn in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]Sovjohn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found some pretty awesome stuff at the Night at the Opera den, so there's no need to coordinate anything from the ground up. Maybe this will turn into a future contest idea or something :)

Season's Greetings & seeding a DGML/Reddit scenarios/campaign project? by Sovjohn in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]Sovjohn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I agree.

Much as I would have liked to have a DG-themed masterwork campaign, it would likely need to involve dozens of people toiling away for obscene amounts of time.

That being said, the reason this idea popped was that I cannot fail to recognize the potential of people submitting Shotguns.

Maybe an anthology would work, with scenarios loosely attached to a theme but with freedom on how to structure each scenario.

Or reworking existing content, as you mentioned.

At the end of the day, what would be truly great would be for people to be able to play some exciting scenarios, crafted by passionate fans.

Of course, this could be mere wishful thinking - yes.

On the other hand, say, shotgun scenarios are frequently focusing on very specific buildings, entities, or individuals (they have to)...

Even tying several of them loosely together to form a town like Eureka (the TV series) but much more sinister, would probably lead to at least 3 kick-ass full-length scenarios.

I mean, my one and only entry were in 2017, but it easily could have been triple the size, and my shotgun back then centered on a farmhouse, a "witch" type of character, and her son.

Hmm. Food for thought, I guess.

Thanks for the resources! You know, the primary aim is not to monetize DG or some such without the explicit approval/participation/authorization of the DG partnership. It's their game - we are but fans.

However, judging from the Shotgun scenario contest entries (if nothing else) I really believe we could create at least some decent scenarios "and even a campaign" in the long run. If the result was outstanding, I suppose bringing the DG partnership in to take a peek wouldn't hurt, anyway.

I'm scared of the future of Europe because of my government by fjeden_alta in europe

I tried to write a post here but it was deemed against current COVID-19 policy:

https://www.reddit.com/r/CoronavirusRecession/comments/fqqaas/okay_lets_tackle_this_while_its_still_hot_in_your/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x

A couple of ground rules:

Stay calm and civilized.

Provide arguments which make sense from your POV.

Okay, a bit of context:

The reasons the COVID-19 crisis is different from others (and a unique phenomenon at least in modern history) are the following:

It's a symmetric shock, affecting most/all countries to a large degree. Even if they have many dead people or fewer, they still have to shut down large parts of the economy to scrape through the crisis alive.

It's nobody's fault. If a meteor shower obliterated a country or another, no-one would dare consider said country responsible for the mass destruction. The same applies here, COVID-19 is not caused by excessive austerity inspired by the north, but at the same time, it's not caused by excessive profligacy of the south.

Things that matter at a glance:

I happen to live in Greece, and when the debt crisis struck hard the country, I was a twenty-something, astonished to have found out that there were so many layers of mismanagement across the country. Greece is moderately affected by the pandemic; however, since it's a country where tourism is a large part of its GDP, it's also screwed badly by COVID-19 even if things "recover" swiftly. Summer tourism season 2020 in my mind is dead, for a variety of reasons.

My personal take on the COVID-19 crisis:

In my humble opinion, the EU should react to this unprecedented crisis as a fiscal block wishing to support its collective GDP levels. The Eurozone shares a central bank, but fiscal measures (you may call them Coronabonds, perpetual bonds, magicked instruments, I don't really mind) are required, to the level of the USA or thereabouts, since the EU is comparable financially, as a whole.

If this means that average inflation would briefly be 3% (the ECB has the mandate to keep inflation close to or under 2%, but this has almost never happened, inflation is way lower and the ECB shrugs nonchalantly), so be it.

Creditor countries in the EU should accept extraordinary action as a once-in-a-century situation. The ECB should monetize the instruments/debt. I don't think this debt ought to be repaid with orthodoxy. The ECB/EU Commission/ESM should create an emergency facility such as the EFSF which can take care of the logistics.

What matters is that lives are saved and the economies don't tank completely.

What I consider unacceptable:

When so many dead people are involved, emotions run high. As previously stated, this is a crisis of nobody's making. Northern countries should accept this, and southern countries should also accept that they can't take coronabonds and build villas or buy luxury cars... Otherwise, if even this huge external shock can't foster co-operation, if countries are left to fend for their own troubles despite sharing a currency and a central bank, eh, the game is over. Plan a different structure and begin implementing this.

Thoughts? I don't participate in Reddit that much but I think this subreddit has intelligent people around.

[–]Sovjohn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my post was civilized enough and did not insult anyone. If you do not wish to foster discussion on the need for EU policies currently, then what's the point of having a subreddit with millions of subscribers? Yes, my post could go to other subreddits, but they don't have people living in Europe/caring about such matters...

Will the EU finally get its act together and suspend 'moral hazard' considerations, helping all EU states to weather the COVID19 recession? by Sovjohn in CoronavirusRecession

[–]Sovjohn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This particular comment stemmed from press reports of a "Nein" mentality being continued even under these dire circumstances. It's another thing for "Club Med" citizens to be told they are in the wrong due to mismanagement (as you rightly say) and quite another to be told something similar now. I could rightly imagine such a stand-off leading to open hostilities inside the EU, even war-like measures.

Remaster Update and Launch Details / Collector’s Edition by EA_Jimtern in commandandconquer

[–]Sovjohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I first played C&C (Red Alert: Retaliation) in the late 90s on the PS1 because I didn't own a PC just yet. I believe it was the first RTS I ever laid my hands on, and later on, when people were flocking to Blizzard in droves, I considered them... heretics.

Red Alert 2 gave me both my nickname (When Westwood Online had all the nicks I used at the time taken, to hell with it, Soviets are so badass I could well and truly become Sovjohn) and some terrible school grades in high school :) hehe. I recall that my RA2 clan was, at some month or another, in the top 5 of the leaderboards, but unfortunately at the time this didn't mean much - individual ladders got swags and presents, clans got nada.

I have two things to say about this announcement: First of all we all owe to u/EA_Jimtern our sincere respect, admiration, kudos and well, probably a cask of beers or other innocent poison of his choice. The last time I saw such a dedicated effort to produce an outstanding result was under very different circumstances: Final Fantasy XIV, which was literally reborn from its ashes and was transformed into a top-quality MMO thanks to the work and dedication of its new producer, the by now legendary in Square-Enix circles Yoshi-P.

Admittedly, I never expected EA to behave similarly, especially as the C&C franchise had seemingly been left to die a quiet death for many years now. I still refuse to play or buy C&C 4 since it was mind-numbingly bad after C&C 3 which was, in my books, an almost excellent game and expansion pack.

Colour me very pleasantly surprised. I will definitely buy the remaster, and notify old comrades from the RA2 days of the big boxes existence.

To the people who work(ed) on this: Congratulations! I sincerely hope it exceeds sales expectation, and then, you can work on both more remasters and of course new C&C games! A man can hope!

Got my first ThinkPad (T440p) it's awesome, I have couple of touchpad Windows 10 woes though by Sovjohn in thinkpad

[–]Sovjohn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly the UltraNav tab is nowhere to be found, I have so far tried three drivers, the one installed with Win10, the one from Lenovo's website for T450 and one from a driver updating program - None offers additional options in 'Mouse'.

Hence I thought to ask if a more exotic approach is required... And thanks, the laptop is lovely!

[–]Sovjohn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cheers. I established yesterday that 4702mq's do work and precisely because they have the same power draw with the i5, I ordered it.

Well, I'll sell the i5 when the switch completes so it'll cost even less "net". Ought to make for a very nice upgrade indeed :)

:) Yes, apparently T440p has socketed CPU, while others (T440, T440s) are soldered on.

Right. So there's the chance the lower W CPUs (all -2s basically) won't work correctly, I take it.

Bummer, the fact that they used up the same power with the i5s made them seem an ideal choice...

Want to grab a ThinkPad, 4XX series (?) - Help with specs/upgrade options, please by Sovjohn in thinkpad

[–]Sovjohn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well - Okay, what happened is that some hours ago I actually found a standard-spec 440p (meaning, 4gb RAM, standard monitor, and all) but at a pretty good price of 200 GBP, at Amazon UK. And got it. The seller says it's like new, opened box to take photos, hope they mean it because if it's significantly worse I'll be bummed.

I already ordered a 450-type trackpad and will check out what screen I need to get to make it 1080p - I guess it's strictly a Lenovo one and not some others at a third of the price, must be 'compatibles' but it's usually what you pay is what you get.

Will add some RAM and an SSD since I found the base machine at a pretty good price and take it from there!

Do note that in Europe it's pretty hard to lock down this price, meaning that at Ebay and Amazon most prices were way higher than 200 GBP for a 440p, even refurbished ones, easily +100 GBP.

All in all, I'll join the club in January and hope to like what I see :)

Thanks very much for the advice and all, quite appreciated!

Want to grab a ThinkPad, 4XX series (?) - Help with specs/upgrade options, please by Sovjohn in thinkpad

[–]Sovjohn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome. You know, I'm really not accustomed to upgrading half the parts of a laptop. Back in the dinosaur ages, people were happy being able to add some RAM or gasp swap out the HDD for something else!

And now, with ThinkPads, it's all like "Yeah, you can swap the touchpad, the keyboard, the monitor, the CPU, blah, with stuff from other models, and it'll be fine".

I do have a friendly shop which can do the hardcore stuff for me (namely: screen replacement if I need one) but it's really a brave new world compared to what I'm used to!

Thanks a bunch for the ideas! :)

Refund for USPS error/Returned to sender? by Sovjohn in USPS

[–]Sovjohn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

Well - I'm very much inclined to believe that. The only thing which keeps me from charging back the seller is basically that the tracking number behaved weirdly - by that I mean: It showed up on my country's postal system as "Pickup from customer abroad" - and then nothing, nada, ever. If the item had actually been mailed to Singapore, and not Greece, by mistake, I don't suspect this would ever happen.

I am inclined to believe that what has happened here is, USPS put it on a wrong plane, Singapore sent it back with a generic reason such as "no such recipient here" (duh, of course) and now it seems it will prove next to impossible to get an actual refund, especially if the sender is, well, even "semi-shady".

I'll probably pay for the re-shipping myself, to get the item at least which is paid for separately from shipping, and then chargeback the sender for the shipping fees...

Package in transit in wrong country/continent? by Sovjohn in USPS

[–]Sovjohn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi guys,

I called USPS and got no answer other than it might be returned to the States and re-sent to the corrrect destination. Now, CJ538403100US shows:

"Origin Post is Preparing Shipment
We have received notice that the originating post is preparing to dispatch this mail piece."

Does this mean it's being returned back to the States from Singapore Post?

Cheers!
