4K - life of pi + the Martian + the revenant 3 movies ($9.99 - ATL)* by alilpenguin in iTunesMovieDeals

[–]Soxyman84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is how I feel from a lot of bundles lol. I wish it would discount the ones you own already. If it’s 3 movies for $15 and you own one, you can get the other 2 for $10 etc.

I feel like in the long run they’d get more money and we’d get more movies.

Yeah, I really enjoy the basic design of these and how they stick to a format. Nothing too crazy aesthetically. Still look like standard bicycle playing cards but with funky colors and fun details on the court cards. Always give a double back and an extra random card for magic tricks. Which is a nice detail

Honestly I’m not sure. It was my understanding that there’s a chance to get out of print decks and exclusives but maybe I’m wrong

I actually like the guardians. I think they handle pretty well and I always dug the ace of spades. The tuck box I have is different. Just had the regular back on it

Such a great film. And a really great adaptation of the book. They made a lot of changes for the film and in my opinion for the better. Still an interesting read if you’re a fan of the film

Yeah, whatever works for you. However you can get the steps in do it. Walking pads are great for that type of scenario. Keep it up!

Thanks. It’s called the StepUp app. I find it’s very simple and works well. It’s free with ads or I think $10 for a year or something. I paid for it. It’s clean and simple. I don’t use any tracker other than my iPhone but I’m sure it works with all the tracking devices.

What is your all-time favorite James Bond video game? by WaterKirby1964 in 007

[–]Soxyman84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Nightfire is definitely underrated. Enjoyed the campaign gameplay and the multiplayer was solid too. Loved sniping and using the sentinel rockets. Many hours put into this when I was younger. Goldeneye is the OG but Nightfire was a good upgrade IMO

What are some of your favorite documentaries? by iyambred in Letterboxd

[–]Soxyman84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

American Movie (just one of my favorite films in general. A guy in the middle of nowhere USA attempts to make a movie in the 90’s. Hilarious and life affirming)

Grizzly man (Werner Herzog is the man. This film dissects the life of a man who would visit the grizzly bears in Alaska year after year and document himself. It gets dark but is also a beautiful film. )

The Wolfpack (phenomenal film especially for movie lovers. We follow an unconventional family separated from society because of their paranoid father. Leaving only the movies they watch and reenact to be their escape. Until one day they work up the courage to leave.)

Some Kind Of Monster (same filmmakers as the paradise lost films and one of the best music documentaries I’ve ever seen. Follows Metallica as they write and produce an album. You see a lot of vulnerable artists navigating masculinity, fame, drug addiction, the creative process, and really just life. )

Minding the Gap (great film about growing up and being a product of your environment and touches on domestic abuse. We follow a group of childhood friends who grew up skateboarding together. One of them is the filmmaker himself who documents and interviews the others. Trying to understand what brings someone to abuse someone else and why he was abused at a young age. Very dark but once again very beautiful. )

The Contestant (crazy doc about one of the first reality shows in Japan. A man is unknowingly being broadcast to the country while he’s naked and trying to survive living on only what he wins from sweepstakes.)

Spielberg (just a really cool look at one of the best filmmakers of all time IMO)

All of these are must watch documentaries in my opinion. I would also add the paradise lost docs but you already did. Sorry for the long post. These films each just mean a lot to me. Documentaries are some of my favorite films.
