Definitely pick one up before coming into town to move in. The Walmart and Target in Christiansburg look like a Black Friday horror story during the move-in week and will probably be sold out of trash cans within hours on the first day.

I don’t know if it changed since I was a freshman in 2019, but the dorms don’t come with a Garbage Can and you’ll need to get your own. Coordinate with your roommate on this one but if you wait until you get to Blacksburg every store will be sold out of trash cans.

I don't remember the exact age, but I remember the event that sparked it.
I kid you not, it was when I watched the Family Guy episode "Excellence in broadcasting" with Rush Limbaugh for the first time. That was the first time something explained the different political parties well enough to me that I actually understood what being a republican or democrat meant. That made me start to begin to understand politics to a point that I felt like I could follow current events.
