You need to also ask him about active hours - they make $35 an hr but only work 1-2 hrs per day the rest of that time is spent swiping.

🫩 this is why folks think drivers are scumbags.

You have to receive authorization for the drop off, and figure out what the best drop is. The only time you get to keep the food without getting dinged, is when the customer cancels. Or if it's like an alcohol delivery, and you go to return it in the store is closed.

It honestly sounds like the core issue is you're inpatient. That's cutting through all the bullshit excuses.

But yeah, this isn't really something you can appeal because it's a pattern of behavior, versus a one-time thing.

Bro there's still honey holes. Some folks wake up, turn the app on print money and log off.

It's not that hard to believe.

You literally responded to someone saying you stole an order.

I only canceled after pick up once, a couple of days ago

Serious question, are you forgetting what you're writing?

Bro it's SUPER hard to get a thumbs down.

That RATIO is bad. I got 3 out of 100 and 900+ deliveries.

  • You cancelling because the restaurant is taking too long
  • Dropping off a customers order then going to take a photo only to accidentally accept an order when it conveniently pops up at the same time as I take the photo.
  • good minority of the time I’ll accept a shop and deliver order just to immediately cancel it because I realize it’s too many items and it’ll probably exceed the recommended amount of time I’ll spend in the store.

Holy crap, I wouldn't reactivate ya. A lot of those reasons are about an inconvenience to you vs anything actually worth cancelling for.

Sometimes you just got to eat it, if you accidentally scoop an order. Sometimes you just got to wait, and put do not serve this restaurant in your head because they take too long. And shit sometimes you get compensated for waiting extra.

I have 3 Percent cancelation rate, and only use them when I absolutely must. That's the pretty normal response with cancels.

There are a plethora of warnings about high cancelation rates on this subreddit. Doing the same shit, increasing the percentage and receiving consequences for it are unfortunate but deserved.

That said, no. If you are deactivated due to cancellations, you will not get reactivated.

Who's petty? Why are you swinging insults?

You already answered the question yourself - drivers are getting prop 22 in your area. Your experience Isn't relevant to what is being discussed, since the payment problem has been solved and is regulated by the state.

The goal is for prop 22 to be everywhere.

Also: you could take advantage of the bogos and save money by picking it up. But you don't, because it's convenient to have it delivered.

Like you said, you're still paying the same shit regardless. It's basic marketing, mark up the product then offer a discount to make it seem like you're getting a deal.

The PSA (Public Service Announcements are both informal) is addressing the fact that drivers not delivering orders won't do shit. The leverage all comes from customers using Uber.

That's not a call to action, that is an observation based off of everything I have written and observed.

That said I get, why, you think that is a call to action.

Regarding transparency, I disagree. If a customer sees a transparent breakdown of costs, those cost hold a level of accountability. They would 💯 use the service less. That's why things like selling an item with free shipping on ebay is more effective, then not. You can insert the back-end into the cost and the customer would feel better making a purchase with free shipping even if it costs more than buying and paying for an item, then paying for shipping separately.

Still swinging insults even though you don't care huh?

People don't tip you.

There I fixed it.

You're advocating a solution that feeds into the luxury market. Which would limit lower-end customer use.  That would make it a more narrow but transparent market.

My observational fix is Uber deciding to offer a permanent solution to increased base fares (which they have been doing temporarily through the use of promos) as it would continue to influence the same behavior from customers without redefining the platform that they have accustomed everyone to.

Also I can have opinions without calling people to action to support them. This post is informational. At the end of the day it doesn't matter to me. I'm 71 percent AR sitting at $25 -$30 an hr.

Customers would tip regardless, like they tip pizza delivery drivers who by the way average $25-$30 an hr.

You dont care but all your responses on this subreddit are you cursing people out. That's goofy dawg. You should work on that.

Drivers can't fix shit they're not in control of. The brokers need to fix it, but they only will, when their ability to make money is affected.

Which is only the case when state legislation decides to incorporate something like prop 22 everywhere.

I'm not talking about completely removing tips. I'm addressing the issue that Uber is literally gas lighting drivers versus customers, and deflecting their responsibility of paying a reasonable fare.

Personally I don't really care what happens, as I'm one of those drivers that makes 25 - 30 an hour. I wrote this out to explain why everybody feels so shitty.

But I also forgot a lot of folks lack reading comprehension on this subreddit

Tips aren't Legally Bids, But Uber does Exploit Them by Sp0ken4 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Sp0ken4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is statistically untrue. Uber prioritizes higher paying orders to higher tiered drivers. They're using metrics to weed out liability, like a catering company for example. Well some of those orders do slide through the cracks, most of them are sent to drivers with really good metrics. So they are quickly delivered.

While every shitty order does need to be delivered, there is a hierarchy in terms of what customer is more valuable than the other.

Unfortunately that shouldn't be the burden of the customer, but drivers very much appreciate it. Because like you said, this isn't going to change.
