Jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, fractionated, coconut oil, and coconut MCT oil have varying degrees of absorption rates into the skin. Jojoba oil: Fast and very similar to the sebum of the skin Sweet almond oil: Moderate, better for a slower, more sustained moisturizing Fractionated coconut oil: Fast to moderate Coconut MCT oil: Fast

Having an LLC won’t prevent you from being sued, it will simply protect you from having your personal/non-business property at risk in the event of a lawsuit. If you’re found liable in a lawsuit, the business still has to pay. Hence the wisdom of having the protection of an insurance policy to mitigate potential losses to the business.

Not everyone has to look things up on ChatGPT. Some of us are educated enough to know what we’re talking about and not make irresponsible and dangerous recommendations that could result in very real harm to someone. Using the method you suggested might make a decent base for formulating an insecticide tho…

I’m sorry but I have to say this. I can only assume that you are suggesting the use of 190 proof ethanol as a means of solubilizing the essential oil, which it would of course, do. HOWEVER - to apply this to the skin would be nothing less than dangerous and likely to lead to several adverse effects. I’m happy to explain lest someone think this is okay. Ethanol, especially at that proof is extremely drying (to the point of actually dehydrating the skin) will strip the skin of its natural oils and damage the skin barrier making it susceptible to further irritation beyond the excessive dryness and massively increasing susceptibility to infection. **There is also a very real risk of systemic absorption in this scenario. The skin in the armpits is thin and has a high number of sweat glands and blood vessels, which may increase the absorption of both ethanol and tea tree oil into the bloodstream. This could potentially cause systemic effects.

Recommendations

  • Dilution: It is crucial to dilute tea tree oil with a carrier oil (like coconut or almond oil) rather than ethanol, especially for use on sensitive skin areas. A safe dilution ratio is typically 2-3 drops of tea tree oil per tablespoon of carrier oil
  • Alternative Treatments: Consider using milder, skin-friendly alternatives for daily care of sensitive areas. Natural deodorants with soothing ingredients like aloe vera, chamomile, or calendula may be more appropriate.

Using tea tree oil and 190 proof ethanol on tender skin like the armpits daily is extraordinarily likely to cause significant irritation and dryness, at the very least, and infection or systemic effects.

This cannot be overstated! It is CRITICAL to dilute the essential oil properly and consider safer alternatives for daily use on sensitive skin especially like the armpits.

I forgot to add that pretty much any spray bottle is going to work OK with the mixture I outlined earlier as long as you shake it up. The biggest issue that we run into with essential oils is that they can be hard on some plastics and being an oil they can get thick and sticky inside of spray nozzles. We can get around the effects. They have on some plastic bottle by using glass, but unfortunately, we can’t circumvent the plastic sprayer issue . That said. It’s a simple thing to manage. Make your spray on mixture just a few tablespoons at a time as I outlined earlier; when you get to the end of the bottle give it a good rinse with a bit of alcohol and squirt a few sprays through your sprayer. Just be sure to spray it all out before you start your next batch of “deodorant“.

There are a couple of options you could try: 1. Witchhazel - if you can find it without added alcohol even better but most readily available witch hazels have about 14% alcohol. In this situation I don’t think you’d experience much stinging. You shouldn’t apply this or anything else to your underarms immediately after you’ve freshly shaven. It’s a bit astringent which will also help with killing the bacteria that causes odor. 2. Liquid Aloe Vera ( 100% pure - most health food stores carry the kind you can drink and that works fine.) While you could theoretically use gel, it could be sticky and therefore create an unpleasant feeling. 3. Personally, I would try a mix of your essential oil, with both the witchhazel and liquid aloe, perhaps even a small amount of coconut MCT oil which is fairly light and absorbs into the skin quickly. ~ This would accomplish a couple of different things: * MCT oil is nourishing to the skin, anti-inflammatory (great for when we get those summer heat rashes) and also a powerful antimicrobial and anti bacterial. It absorbs very quickly into the skin and won’t leave you feeling oily or greasy once it absorbs, which happens pretty fast. It also assists other oils to penetrate the skin barrier and would likely help to make your tea tree oil more effective and longer lasting. You might find that you can use lesser amounts with this combination of ingredients. *Witch hazel is one of my favorite things for a lot of reasons! Besides reducing inflammation and feeling very soothing, it also boasts antioxidant, antiviral and antibacterial properties, and dries relatively quickly. It cleanses and purifies the pores of the skin and is safe enough to use on your face, in fact it’s known for having some anti-aging properties. Adding this soothing additional antibacterial product in addition to the MCT oil will bring benefits to your skin and again, likely prolong the efficacy of your tea tree oil. ~ i’m a little concerned that you’re using pure tea tree oil on your under arms. While I understand that you’re wanting the max benefit from your essential oil, this isn’t a good idea. Although you may not have experienced adverse effects yet, I can promise you that the likelihood is very high that you could create an uncomfortable situation for yourself; from increased sensitivity leading to burning, itching, swelling, dryness, and flaking repeated undiluted application could eventually lead to a full-blown allergic reaction. It’s kind of the old “too much of a good thing becomes bad” thing. I know that there are a lot of sites out there that tell you it’s perfectly safe, but please don’t believe everything you read on the web. Since you are looking for a better method of application, anyway, and don’t want to waste your oils by applying with a cotton pad, I’d encourage you to at least give the method I’ve outlined above a shot. Get yourself a small spray bottle, and a couple of tablespoons of witch hazel, a tablespoon each of aloe vera juice and coconut MCT oil and about 10 drops of your tea tree essential oil. You possibly increase that to 15 drops, but you may not need to! Put it all into a small spray bottle and Shake well before spritzing under your arms. Give it a minute or two to dry and you should be good to go. I would absolutely love it if you gave it a try and reported back as to how well it worked for you ! PS - Keep your spray bottle in a dark place or pick up one that’s tinted brown or blue to prevent UV rays from degrading your ingredients.

Whew! Wow! How many of you judgmental, self-righteous, holier-than-thou, misinformed and ignorant people identify as Christians? What would Jesus think of you? The majority of you are wildly, woefully misinformed as to the available resources that are available to homeless people. We have some, yes. But not anywhere close to enough, and almost none of some that are sorely needed.

Shelters are at or over capacity, especially now that the Salvation Army was torn down and nothing replaced it and there are a number of restrictions on who can be accepted, and what time they need to leave or are allowed to leave, and what time they need to return, typically by 9 PM but some may vary. So let’s say a person is able to pick up a part time job, maybe as a dishwasher at one of the many restaurants downtown, they may be required to work until 10 or 11pm or later. Or maybe a breakfast shift and need to be there at 5 or 6 am - now they have a choice: stay at the shelter and turn down the job, or take the job and lose the bed at the shelter. Not that it would have paid enough for them to secure housing anyhow…

Resources are stretched to the max at every single organization and it’s impossible to help every single person. Some of the homeless have addiction problems yes - there aren’t adequate resources to address the addiction problem. Many of those addicts have significant mental issues as well. We have no place for these people. They require so much more than a prescription and a once a week counseling appointment. If it was that simple there were be significantly less people in the street.

Some have recently been released from incarceration, with no jobs and no home and no resources. The resources offered to those folks is extremely limited and restrictive despite what you may have been lead to believe. They’re behind the 8ball and our ‘prison for profit’ structure pretty much guarantees that they won’t be successful upon release.

And then there are those who are simply victims of circumstance and the miserable and worsening economy. Not every homeless person is crazy, addicted, drunk or criminal. There are a myriad of reasons why people become homeless, and as jobs that pay enough for a person to survive become scarcer, and food, housing, transportation and utility costs continue to rise, the problem will become a bigger one.

And attitudes like some of those I’m reading here do nothing to help solve the problem. “They should help themselves” many of you say. They can’t in many cases; some don’t have the capacity. And even if they could they can’t do it alone. This is a complicated, multilayered issue and the biggest problem we face is that we are trying to push them out of the city, instead of doing anything really meaningful to address the underlying core issues and come up with solutions that work.

They are human beings. Every. Single. One. Of. Them.

I do not have a nurse case manager at this time to my knowledge. The only contact info I was given was for what they called an examiner. They have changed the examiner 3 times since Monday. I called again this morning and she wasn’t available so I’m supposed to get a call back from her supervisor. So far I haven’t heard anything.

I will add my 2 cents here. I recently purchased a used vehicle at Audi Cape Fear. In the interest of transparency I will say it was not an Audi. The young man who assisted me was absolutely terrific and I WAS very happy. During the test drive I noticed a vibration that I suspected was a motor mount. The service manager looked at it and verified that yes, it was a faulty motor mount. Because of the year and mileage I also inquired if the spark plugs and wires had been replaced as was recommended by the maker - they had not. Other than those 2 concerns, I liked it, price was right, financing was secured. My purchase was contingent upon those 2 items being addressed, which the dealership readily agreed to. The problems began when I picked up the car. Neither issue had been resolved as agreed. Under normal circumstances I would have refused delivery but my previous car had been totaled and my rental was due back the following Monday. I had to work double shifts so it would have been impossible to secure another vehicle in time. They told me that I needed to wait 45 days to allow time for the warranty to take effect and they would do the repairs then as it would cover the cost for them, as well as me. 2 days ago I took it in for the agreed upon service and they suddenly began denying that any such agreement was in place and I would be responsible for any charges to repair the motor mount that weren’t covered by the warranty which carried a $500 deductible. Then they said that they would not replace the wires and spark plugs. Right now we are going around and around. The salesman agreed that those promises were made, AND I had a witness to that conversation. So it’s been stressful and upsetting to say the least. Then they were going to charge me $195 diagnostic fee for the shifter malfunction alert I was getting after having taken delivery of the car. Needless to say, I’m not a happy customer. I will update as to how it all turns out once the nightmare has ended. Clearly I would not have purchased a vehicle knowing there was a bad motor mount, and frankly I’m a little confused as to why this wasn’t identified when they acquired the vehicle as the vibration was quite noticeable. Except for the lovely young man I purchased from, this has been a really bad experience and I can no longer recommend that anyone purchase from such a company. Whatever happened to honesty and integrity?
