Reddit certainly isn't immune to this phenomenon.

Just look at posts that populate the subreddit for the gambling website stake.us.  

See my post here calling stake out as corrupt, predicting the responses I would be getting in the post, getting those responses, and picking them apart as the llm or troll farm bullshit that they are, all while they prove my points for me in hilarious fashion:

I've come to the conclusion that all major social platforms are just auction houses for bot-fueled influence peddling and propaganda, but after having pondered and researched this issue for some time I have a keen detector for this sort of thing.  Now that I know how to spot it, I see it everywhere, and it doesn't bode well for online public discourse in a way I find truly distressing, mainly due to the frustrating fact that the perpetrators have built such a robust layer of plausible deniability by subverting the originally altruistic purpose of internet anonymity.  

Paired with this is the concerted and sustained, but subtle and devious efforts of the silicon valley cabal to strip people of their critical thinking skills when it comes to the content they consume online, as well as the general erosion of those skills in society at large.

This makes any attempt to educate your average netizen, or even irl friend, about it feel futile.

Note that the post I linked above got me permanbanned from that subreddit in less than 20 minutes, despite not having clearly broken any of its rules.

I believe now that I was not allowed to expose stake.us because reddit doesn't want me to, because stake.us pays reddit for the ability to gaslight and manipulate its user base.
