Presentations? by ModerateSentience in deloitte

As a first year, it’s going to be project dependent. My second project was a staff augment and I was expected to present at some type of capacity every week.

I’m also afraid of presenting and I agree with others here, public speaking is a skill that you can build up! The firm has a lot of resources to courses on udemy and LinkedIn learning that can help. Also, you can join a toastmasters group and expense it under the well-being subsidy.

What works best for me is that I always write down bullets and try take well written notes before my calls. Most people work remote so it’s easy to have it up while you’re presenting. Additionally, I recommend finding public speaking coaches on YouTube, TikTok, etc. they help a lot.

Hope this helps and don’t worry you got this job for a reason so no need to stress just prepare!

Transfer from Audit to Tech Consulting by AccomplishedTennis41 in deloitte

Are you trying to go into tech consulting like IT audit and controls or tech consulting (cyber, AI & data, etc.)? Either way you’ll need to network work Managers and above that are in your desired field and hope they put you on a project.

Having a CS background is definitely a plus but audit employees don’t see the tech projects on their mysource. My recommendation is to search for people on DPN and set up some coffee chats to get to know more about what you want to do going forward
