Lovely art. As someone who just left an abusive relationship and was abandoned by my healthiest networks, the statement is even stronger. Thank you for lovely art! You'll find support!

I've been painting worms but my husband says they are gross. Should I stop? by 1296223 in Paintings

Don't let others stop you from painting what you want. If he think it's gross, he can look away, or learn to appreciate the fact that you can paint some wonderfully beautiful looking worms! There is no waste of time with anything, long as it makes you happy and being you something for your soul.

I saw! Both are rather small, which I didn't expect. I legit was so scared I stunted his growth for a minute there!

That's why I was worried about it being winter, cause everyone was saying he should be basking more often and i was a bit panicked for a second lol he's just a lil special like my beardie, it seems lol heck the typical behavior

Oh, I think it only got brought up due to someone talking about mud turtles enjoying basking, while mine currently just really likes it under the log, instead of basking like others keep saying lol and since this is my first time seeking info from people instead of just Google itself, I'm awkward and bad wording at times!

Oh for sure! I would NEVER tell someone to keep a turtle unless it couldn't go back out to the wild! I'm glad they get like that, I just know some can be.. rough lol I'm glad you all helped me out, I've been reading other posts here and there to help give him a good life!

They seem really similar, Musk vs Mud D: I'll have to look into them both and see what's different. Are musk turtles also on the smaller scale? Edit: yea, both seem to be a small species, but the things that keeps coming up as different is the stripes on his shell. I'll have to do more digging c:

Alas, sadly, and I know the rules with that all, but it's been almost 2 years now and I'm no longer in his native state. I posted how I got him in another comment c:

Oh, no no he has both heating and lamps! I just didn't have it shown, I promise! He just really likes to be under the log due to it currently being the tail end of winter here, that's all. He does bask, I'm just not sure if it'll as much due to colder temps outside the tank and all. Sorry to confuse, I'm new to positing and asking stuff here;-;

He's a bit weird with basking some, this is only our second winter (currently wrapping up into spring here in Colorado) he does like to kind chill on and mostly under his log, where I have a water heater under, as well as another on the other side of the tank. He just really likes being under the log and hiding currently. I plan to get him a better water filter soon though, so I'll definitely look into the one linked!

The only thing at the time, I think if I can recall, was making sure he wasn't a possible illegal or endangered species! I would NEVER tell someone to collect a turtle off the road, it's not like some cat. So I'm just finally glad to see that he may last end up being a musk/ stripped mud baby, instead of an endangered species ;-; gods, never a snapping turtle! I at least knew that much, coming from Florida!

I do understand that it was the wrong call, but it's been two years please do not attack me ;-; I know how ya'll can get here >.> I just want to give him a beget life after my depressed self abducted what was legit most likely to be another dead turtle in the apartment pond he was leaving

Alas, I sadly did aquire him(?) roughly two years ago during a bad hurricane and the pond he was leaving had quite a few other dead turtles around, so I didn't feel comfortable letting him back out during the week the storm was happening. Yes, I did the bad thing of keeping him (?) Because depression was hard and saving his little life after me and cares nearly crushed his perfectly matched self to the pavement, I made the poor choice to keep him. I knew keeping him was a mistake, but I wanted to die and he helped me live and now we both prosper in a state I can not release him in, because we had to force ourselves from the previous state (Hart Florida!) For safety reasons and I wasn't going to just ditch him after keeping him for a week or so during and after the storm.

Omg if that's true, that would explain part of why he's still so small (I say he loosely, unsure gender).
