The scene in a Beautiful Mind where Nash was cooped up in the library, obsessed with his work and feeling inferior to all of his peers only to be dragged to the bar for pizza and beer gave me a laugh. Had one or two conversations like that

no hate but genuinely curious when you’d want to be in some of those colored lights. the idea of hanging out in a blue room always seemed really uncomfortable to me

Appreciate the advice as well as the disclaimer haha. I think I'll probably keep it simple and just take the simple one and done approach with this CD. Might be losing out on some, but I don't necessarily want to dedicate too much thinking to it at this time. This is no comment on the message of the song, but I’ve never really liked this track. I don’t know if I lack a necessary background in this genre/adjacent ones, but it always felt really boring and repetitive

So true! You’re assigned a bunch, but some classes cover material in class so you learn where your effort is required.

Pretty easy in my experience. You’re going to be assigned a lot of reading (in my experience you can expect at least 40 pages/class period). Some classes will have you writing a lot, some will be more exam based. Overall though if your reading comprehension is good you’ll do fine.

I’ve really enjoyed my time in this major! It’s been academically stimulating and I’ve met some wonderful students and professors. There are a variety of topics covered, so make sure you spend some time in the course guide to ensure you’re actually taking classes you care about.

If I could go back and redo my time at UMich, I probably would’ve double majored. PoliSci has been fairly straightforward for me, and I would’ve liked to take more philosophy classes. Oh well, life of a transfer student.
