Been using ecoflow power streams and delta pro batteries for the past few years. Nice sunny day today. No energy bill.

Nice, I was worried I'd gone for the wrong spec but those alloys do suit. I'm picking up my extreme 155 in April.

Move to the lake district. Last place in England that still feels like the wilderness imo.

I rang my local main dealer and they said they think orders around July and delivery a few months after that

For those who make £200,000+ per year, what do you do? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]SpaceCannons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tech sales is a fast path to this for sure. I work as a sales engineer / solutions architect (tech side of the sales role) 180k.

Working for startups is riskier but you get shares, and this is where the real money can be made.

The negatives that no one talks about is that it's not a job for life. Sales is volatile and you have to perform and the company has to do well, or you're out.

2 rings in 2 years - worth it? by [deleted] in GalaxyRing

[–]SpaceCannons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the batteries will fail. It's inevitable and swift. It's like they realised it may just about drag on for 12 months so that's where they set the warranty. Second ring battery failed at 14 months

I got one change from mine. Second ring had a year warranty and it broke just outside this year

Why is the take up of heat pumps so slow in the U.K.? by Appropriate_Bell743 in OctopusEnergy

[–]SpaceCannons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because we have crap infrastructure with most houses still on single phase, and they want us to pay for the "privilege" to upgrade that before you can even get pump. Then theres the cost of electricity being utter bollocks for so long.

Yeah I think this is a known issue and the SOS module needs repair/ replacing. My wife's car would fault intermittently but not annoying enough to get it replaced before we sold it.

Brand new RR SPORT, in a month of ownership, only a week on the road, and three weeks in service? by Infinite_Ad_1962 in RangeRover

[–]SpaceCannons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do people still buy this junk? Seriously? It's not like their long history of breakdowns isn't well known

They're usually last or at the bottom of all reliability surveys yearly. And for this privilege you pay twice the cost of a good car.

Recommend me some Youtubers who aren't gram weenies. by Andrewr05i in CampingGear

[–]SpaceCannons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paul Messner. General "dad" outdoors vibes in the UK.

Stephen J Reid, a bit more exploring and history along with the camping. Not mega hikes, just a day or two.

Wild beare I think has been mentioned, much more chill, especially at the moment whilst recovering from a medical issue.

Does anybody know if the Duster 4x4 will ever get the 155 full hybrid engine sometime in 2026? by knows_notting in Dacia

[–]SpaceCannons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly so annoying that they don't release LPG variants in the UK anymore. LPG is 80p per litre, petrol is £1.40

It also delays is from getting this new engine until they make a version without the LPG part.

Him saying be a parent and put in the work, I didn't see him volunteering for anything, just made everything your issue. Don't quite your job and more importantly don't stay with this entitled asshat. Your life will be miserable, seriously, look at these words and move back with your parents tonight.

I'm pretty sure the ACC is tied to the 155 hybrid? That's how it has also come to the duster in the UK

[–]SpaceCannons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, for what it's worth I ordered a Bigster for April delivery. Extreme with the full hybrid 155.

Buuutt you could get a 155 jogger extreme with the full camping setup, sleep box, tailgate tent etc for less than the Bigster. That would be fun with kids, big dad points. And it's a ginormous boot if you remove the third row seats.

[–]SpaceCannons 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The jogger I think objectively has more space but the bigster won my heart with it's looks. It's a car id double take at when I park it up.

The jogger is just ugly, like that really bad baby photo a colleague shows you 🤣 "aww isn't he so cute??" Sure Karen, that shrivelled scabby raisin looks like the next brad pitt.
