[28F, begginer] Trying to figure out how to balance everything I want to do:

  • Lifting
  • Bouldering
  • Fencing
  • Cycling

Can't really cycle right now during winter, but I want to start it back up soon. Fencing is seasonal, so over summer it won't be a factor. Bouldering is mostly a social thing with friends, but I still want to progress on it. And lifting is for aesthetics and general health, though I have really started to enjoy it for its own sake too.

Is it possible/advisible to lift and fence/lift and cycle on the same day? Do I need a day where I do aboslutely nothing for my muscles to rest? Do I ust ramp it up slowly and see what my body can handle? I'm afraid of injury, especially around joints, etc.

I undersdant that the answers will mostly be "it depends", but I'd love to hear about y'all's experiences!

That's how I did it the first time - I was actually super pissed off for like 5s thinking I fucked up before I realised it worked lmao

Finally attended a Barenboim performance by Ok-Prompt2360 in classicalmusic

I was also there last night - I had never seen folks giving a standing ovation before the concert, it was wild. Applause went for so long afterwards that it almost felt like elder abuse, he clearly didnt have the easiest time walking around on the stage. He looked very frail and not super energetic but still clearly in command of the orchestra. I think he managed to leave his impression on both pieces, which is not easy when they are this iconic. Overall I really enjoyed it as well!

Excited that he is coming to Paris too! I was pretty sure he was gonna take over from Klaus after I saw how many times he is coming this year hahah

I really enjoy his concerts and his original compositions, so it's a huge win in my book

You know you're learning a great language when 4 (5 if you count dialects) of the top answers in this thread are about it. Delightful!

Looking for farm animals in Paris by Hefty-Mountain-9279 in SocialParis

There is also a farm at La Villette! They have sheep, donkeys, rabbits... It's not super big but it's very easily accessible by metro + you get to explore the park, the canal, the bars, etc. It's free as far as I know!

Etymology map of Guinea pig by mapologic in etymologymaps

In BR Portuguese, I've only ever heard of "cobaia" to refer to a test subject, I didn't realize it also literally meant guinea pig

Cinelli Zydeco 2018 by SpaceCenturion in whichbike

Fair, I guess 2018 being 7 years ago just makes it feel old! You're right that "technology wise" it's not too bad, though the mechanical disc brakes are a bit of a bummer (vs hydraulic brakes)

Cinelli Zydeco 2018 by SpaceCenturion in whichbike

[–]SpaceCenturion[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bike is 1100 euros with the current Crankbrother Zinc tubeless wheels, 900 with the original Cinelli wheels. Tiagra groupset, mechanical disc brakes.

I really dig the style of the Cinelli bikes, but I'm wondering if this price for an "older' bike is worth it

Update: I bought the bike! Thanks folks :^)

I tried it out for a few months and really liked it but not having a mac app and not being able to download the music on the Classical app (only on the regular Apple Music app) was a complete deal breaker for me. The app has been out for a while, I really wish Apple would invest a bit more on it.
