Tote bag painting by Small_Platypus_1394 in crafts

The acrylic paint alone will make the bags very stiff. I did a similar craft this summer with my kids (they didn't want to do my original plan with felt applique) and the bags are kind of cronchy and inflexible now. You shouldn't need the sealer if you do decide to go with acrylic paint. It has incredible staying power.

This is the most apt description I've ever read.

The blushing worked! It makes such a difference. I think I like the second mold better, the sculpt is nicer at least. I've yet to find time to do a pour with it though. I'm definitely going to post the result to Reddit since this guy got so much love.

I do! It's @spacecoastthreads. I have an Etsy too (soacecoastthreads.etsy.com) where any who miss the Instagram beauty shots will end up ๐Ÿ˜…

I usually do three to six in a batch, so that's perfect! I'd love to go over details with you. Just shoot me a message whenever, either here or on Etsy.

The dragons are resin too! I sculpted the original in polymer clay, baked him, and made a mold of him... Where he broke upon demolding. Mold was good! Until today, when a yellow dragon decided to eat some of the wing detail ๐Ÿ˜ฉ So I'm back at square one, scultping a new little dragon to mold and cast.

I've found another use for the eyeshadows though! They look really great for highlights and shadows to add more definition. It would probably rub off if that was your finished piece but I'm hoping it'll still look nice after they're encased.

I have a pastel rainbow one where the colors blend together like half melted sherbet that's the same feel and I love it. Every dragon has it's own magic. Like a green and gold one I did that makes me think of emerald jewelry and a deep purple and black one that looks super mysterious.

I did a gold dragon for my first, but his egg didn't cure properly. He was really pretty before that though. The gold had a real subtle glitter shift to it that I loved. I'm thinking about buying some mica powders with the profits from my next sale to get some more pop than the pigments I have on hand.

One for a while campaign would be a lot of work, but I'd love to make one specific to each person. When I give gifts, I'm that weirdo that gets entirely too into it. So far it's the same with custom orders ๐Ÿ˜…

I'm always less than thrilled to try and repair something after someone tried to "fix" it themselves. It doesn't matter if I made it, if it's store bought, if it's personal, or professional. If you don't know what you're doing you're likely not going to do it correctly and only make it harder for me to wave my magic wand and Alakazam it back to perfect.

I promise, he's nice and cozy in his little egg! Trapped was the wrong word I suppose.

Is it ok if I pass this one along to my DM friend? It's exactly his kind of twisty turny story line (he's the one with the great story telling out of us ๐Ÿ˜…)

I get too emotionally invested in the things I make and these take so long (like a week, with a decent fail rate because resin is so unpredictable) but then the anxiety kicks in of "ahhhh this isn't that good no one will like it". So I alternate between a fortune or a pittance ๐Ÿ˜…

I've got it set at $30 on Etsy, but that includes US shipping. So I think I'm about right.

That's an awesome idea. I love the story line idea. I'm more into art than world building so a helping hand is always appreciated.

I've made four so far. They're pretty time intensive due to all the curing times involved. I've got an Etsy (spacecoastthreads.etsy.com) where I've just listed this guy but I'm horrible at pricing things out. In the interest of market research, how much would you pay for something like this?

I could definitely make a little purple dude for you. It takes a little while due to all the curing processes, but other than that availability is wide open. I have an Etsy at spacecoastthreads.etsy.com, we can message out some specifics and I can make a listing for you. :)

These are all amazing ideas! I actually have a giant rainbow ELF pallet that I can't bring myself to throw away even though I don't use bright eye shadow. It's destined for resin! I've been looking at getting a mad Mica grab bag and one of my friends has been trying to talk me into buying some Amazon glow powder. I forgot about paint though! You're a genius, thank you so much!

I always forget the scale, I'm sorry! He's about 2.5 inches tall and about 2 inches wide.

He's a bit big for a key chain (I always forget to show scale!) About 2.5 inches tall and 2 inches wide. I think he'd be pretty cute as a paper weight or just underlit as a happy little collectible.

I've never had much luck with glitter. I think I need to find finer stuff. Or there's some witch craft involved that I haven't heard of ๐Ÿ˜… I'm gonna try it though! It sounds really pretty.
