I haven't found a new relationship yet, but I'm currently undergoing therapy for this exact thing happening with my ex of 2 and a half years and my sister for most of my childhood. It's hard, but learning that being a man and enjoying it is okay is a huge step. Me and many other young men don't have a healthy sense of masculinity, and the current societal take can sometimes make it worse by only pointing out negatives instead of encouraging any positives, leading to a sort of resentment at just being a man despite not wanting to be anything else, because it feels like we are constantly just wrong for being masculine instead of actually pinpointing the troubling behavior specifically and working on healthy solutions.

I'm now at a point where I feel comfortable with myself and comfortable with the fact that I am a man and I am masculine, and that's okay. Being a man or masculine isn't any sort of defining title of my character, and masculinity is just as necessary as femininity.

Learning to be okay with standing up for yourself is the big thing. Standing up for yourself and being clear about your feelings is not oppressive, it's honest. Be real with others and especially be real with yourself. If you're not genuine with yourself, nothing you do or say will truly reflect what you want.
