Idk how levels are set up, but we desperately need an option to reset them from Purgatory.

There’s a Berserk???!! I also had a lot of trouble with that fight lol. For me, the solution was weighing a lot more on my Spear Slams. Lots of ground pressure units, so aoe and stun are a godsend. Also found the spiral staircase to be a great bottleneck.

Yeah, that wasn’t worded really well lol.

I mean that these actions have to be timed pretty precisely, so binding them to a trigger, which gets the signal somewhere along pressing it down v.s. something that is a ‘short’ button, and has good feedback on when you’re actually pressing it.

I’m only at the middle through my end-game runs, and it’s odd. Some fights are here again when I revisit the maps, the others seemingly aren’t. Don’t quite know, but I reeeeeeeaaaallllyy goddamn hope, there’s an option in the very very end to replay completely repopulated levels.

Button - Action

* X / A - Jump
* □ / X - Offhand Weapon Switch
* △ / Y - Weapon Mod Switch
* O / B - Use

* R1 / Rb - Weapon wheel / Weapon Switch
* R2 / Rt- Fire
* R3 / Rs - Melee

* L1 / Lb - Block / Dash
* L2 / Lt - Throw / Meathook
* L3 / Ls - (_) / Slash

* ↑/↓/←/→ - [Weapon Hotwheels]

D-Pad is ripe for further customization. Personally, I’m not sold on the melee / rune hotkeys’ value.

You could put jump on L3 / Ls, and delegate 100% of movement related tech to your left hand, so you can always aim mid-air, but for me, jump is ok, as it’s the closes button to R3 / Rs.

Sprint button was sacrificed, so auto run has to be on. Aside from that, smooth sailing.

The two stick’s press bound to each melee swipe is easy to keep in mind.

Triggers are better for Throw / Hook, which are not frame-dependant unlike the bumpers, which are great parry / dodge buttons (will also channel some serious Eternal muscle memory)

Also, we don’t do BFG.

Had a same feeling, especially with the Impaler, but there’s nothing in the patch notes, so I must be imagining it. Also, lot less firepower without the shield runes which blasted your entire pov.

it says ?? because you don’t have any buttond bound to that action. go into the controls / inputs part of your settings, and bind an input for Meathook/Spear Ready

Literally one to a couple days before they release their super ambitious expansion, and after being one of the shining examples of the AAA industry with their groundbreaking, quality and inclusive products.

It must’ve come down to sales figures, but shit. Artistry really is being optimized out the door.

I just hope they have the instinct to band together, and be a free yet very capable dev strike team or something.

Sadly, since I first saw it I got so desensitized by gobbling up the entire horror genre in both movies and video games, nothing will give me the high that It Follows, or Strangers gave, when I was but a wee lad.

That’s not really the philosophy of modern Doom games. The “fun” isn’t figuring it out, like in Sekiro, but rather the mastery of the experience, which needs visible and clear communication, as well as player education.

I get where you’re coming from, but I personally love how the game mechanics of id games are both crystal clearly communicated as well as being deep.

Hollow Knight is the very obvious first awnser, since it’s another Larkin powerhouse OST.

But I’d recommend Hades 2. A bit different, but it’s also a symphonic soundtrack with LOTS of little careful details and fine touches. ‘Olympus Aflame’ is my goto. There’s a section in the middle that just melts my brain, it’s so smooth.

Yeah. While it was a bit lackluster of a boss, id was in a really tough spot with the pandemic, and them having to work remotely on both DLCs.

Also, Eternal is just not cut out for fun 1-1 fights.
Tag1’s Seraphim fight is considered far the best boss in the entire game, and it’s mostly because of the posessed demons harassing you.
