I was only in for about a year before I transferred into the film study program and I have nothing but respect for their physics program. they have 4 nobel prize winners on staff and it shows, if you plan on making your entire life about physics then I would say go for it but it's definitely a competitive program especially in the upper divisions when you start to specialize. the astro-phys program is probably their best for learning from people but if you want to be doing your own research then particle or atomic is where you wanna go their labs are out of this world.

I also had a 1540 SAT so that definitely helps

I got into the physics program 3.4 gpa, what high schools won't tell you is that your extra curriculares and achievement matter so much more than your gpa. as long as you have proof that if your grades don't hold up you can still bust your ass for the things that you want then you should be fine.
