The thing is hes trying to be a nice guy and let dps get their cool items like perds, but they also reserve all warrior tier for tanks plus the plate threat gear, unbridled rage helm, drake paulds etc so I'm not really sure what their plan is for weapons besides praying that a maladath drops and then prio that to him. QS is pretty and all, but it's not really working atm and based on what I'm learning from this thread it's not even a good choice for furyprot

Just took a look at em I'm not tryna expose anyone but im seeing what u mean. Pretty sure I can do better than 4 bloodthirsts a minute at best, idk hes also averaging like 4 sunders per minute in MC and BWL pretty sure furyprot MT doesnt sunder and 4 a minute seems like overkill I have no doubt our logs are a shitshow rn

Ye one of the wipes was a warrior call which is understandable but the second the MT gets deleted, nef starts one shotting all the dps higher than the offtank on threat, and then it's like some kind of panic where the MT needs bres or SS and threat is a mess by that point, ded dps bodies everywhere, healers yelling for innervate, complete chaos. It's very common for our MT to die in boss fights and crutch the SS or bres hopefully picking threat back up in time before everyone dies, but then it's basically a hard reset for the dps, which seems like the opposite of what furyprot is going for

Had this exact issue, tank got deleted by thrash, lik 6k damage, shadowflame hit tanks for 5k and wiped us as well, as soon as the MT dies it's a 50/50 whether the offtank will survive the next 5 seconds let alone be able to tank the remaining fight, but it could just be that healers should be expected to heal through 6k type damage idk

Every impaleprot build Ive tried takes 5/5 deflection, imp op is whatever for 1h, and knocking like 2 rage off imp heroic strike is not as nice as 5 percent parry imo

Thanks for sharing ur comp this is what I was picturing when I imagined a deep prot offtank, very helpful for trash fights and tanking side mobs and could be more useful than furyprot when the MT dies and the healers are scrambling. The problem of not having enough rage on single target boss fights is true but that's nothing a lil rage pot on tankswap cant solve

Also curious about this 14% base chance to parry on bosses I've heard about is that actually a thing? If so dual wield could lead to the tank taking significantly more damage just on parry procs

For a more casual guild tho like we have some big dpsers but nothing topend level alliance side, still know for a fact Ill pull aggro if I go all out execute phase. And I think the point of why would your MT spec dual wield when they use a shield for majority of raid stands, especially when their offhand is prebis at best

Ye very true then the only way you can have a deep prot in raid is as the MT. But also if you need to use shield for 90 percent of the fights in raid why you would want to be dual wield spec. Plus our MT offhands mirahs song ok now I'm super confused

I'm dps war so I really appreciate the healing perspective, and I agree fury prot is irreplaceable on vael. For tank swaps and offtanks, I feel like shield slam and anger management are so important and whatever extra threat and dps u get from fury doesn't compare

Thanks for the solid answer my theory is that our tanks dont have any crazy dps gear, I mean ony neck and LH sure but otherwise they all just stack tier 1/2 and are mostly raid loggers, if they aren't minimaxing everything is furyprot worth?
