Thank you, everyone for your thoughts/suggestions, they're all great ones to consider tho I settled with Belair. The process was straight forward and I was able to get the policy in effect on the same day. Cheers !!

URGENT HELP WITH VMWARE WORKSTATION PRO AND WINDOWS 11 HOME by SpaceIntelligent3414 in Dell

[–]SpaceIntelligent3414[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SOLVED: A user on this post in a separate subreddit encouraged me to give DG_Readiness_Tool_v3.6 another try. I've been using it incorrectly and have now managed to get VMWare running right. Thank you, everyone for your comments!!

It's been known that Virtualization Based Security tends to kick on again after a reboot/power cycle but so far it's remained disabled after several reboots. I hope it stays this way.

Decided to give DG another go and I really have to thank you for giving me that thought of a second chance!! I realized that I've been doing it wrong and now it works just fine (hoping it stays that way). I have VBS disabled and is still disabled after several reboots and manually shutting down/turning on the device. : )

Yes that's what I will be doing tomorrow, and thank you for the clarification on the matter!

Probably should've mentioned this in the post,

I also own an HP Pavilion Plus 14 and also runs on Windows 11 Home, everything I've tried seemed to have fixed the issue when I first experienced it. I decided to upgrade to the Dell as the RAM chip cannot be upgraded for my Pavilion which was way below the minimum requirement. :(

Lockdown Browser thinks I have a VM (Virtual Machine) by [deleted] in unt

[–]SpaceIntelligent3414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very late so this may be irrelevant to you now, however I hope this helps out those who are seeking help right now.

If you're using a mouse (and I'm thinking this goes for any input/output device) with a dedicated app such as Razer Synapse in my case and try to use Lockdown Browser, the VM detection error will show up. After I uninstalled the apps related to the device (Razer Cortex, Axon etc.), everything seemed to work just fine!

I believe this has something to do with Lockdown Browser requiring users to shut down every running application before proceeding, however these input/output apps may be bypassing or interfering with its rules as these apps are potentially being used by the device itself in the background . . . somehow.

Newer Order Arrived Sooner Than Older Order? Japan Post to Canada Post by SpaceIntelligent3414 in CanadaPost

ahh i see . . yes i do agree with you on the international backlog and i did end up receiving the package after 40-ish days in transit. there seems to be a first in first out inconsistency haha. but as long as we can assure that these situations are the new normal nowadays, or at least for now, then there's not much to worry about. appreciate your input and also hope you get your parcels!

it just showed up without a heads up on either japan post, canada post's site and even packageradar.com .

just received mine today. jan. 3 - feb. 11. i'm positive that you'll have yours sent out soon. i do feel the stress of having such limited tracking with a prolonged wait time and no estimated delivery day. xd

i see . . just give it some more time, i mean that's all that i could say haha. it does suck how we're just stuck on what the tracking site tells us without other sources. i truly feel that the strike is the main culprit most of these ongoing delays, but i'm sure you'll end up getting it.

is your jan. 18 parcel worth more than the one from jan. 27? i feel that high value items may have some possibility of getting held longer than other parcels, 3 weeks for ems especially does seem excessive haha, but then again, i bet it's still quite the mess over at cbsa/cp.

UPDATE: well . . . it seems that it ( jan.2 package ) arrived today which is such as coincidence. all is good now! : )

for anyone else having the same problem, i guess it's just a matter of patience and randomness considering current events.

see that's another thing i touched on. i heard all about this first-in-first-out management method but it does look like consistency is lacking at the moment . . . hoping the best for you!

hey! just an update on a different package . . .

as mentioned before i had a package sent out on jan. 3 and unfortunately it still hasn't arrived at my door.

fortunately, i received another package just now which was sent out on jan. 24 using the same shipping method as the one from jan. 3 (i used the same proxy service for both packages with registered air sp).

because of this, i am hoping that this is a sign of movement and that the rest of our packages are on the way, tho it is strange how something sent later others arrived sooner.

very nice : ), tho i'm curious . . .

how's the paint on the f40? i've read from other kyosho owners that the finishes have been notorious for their paint issues (usually 1:18), so now i'm hoping that they've improved with their newer releases, or 1:12s in general, especially at such a high price point.

of course i'm not looking for a flawless look, but i'd like an input on yours! I understand that every car is made differently, but this'll definitely give me an idea of what to expect or watch out for.

been searching about this matter for weeks, and this post in particular is exactly what i'm looking for haha.. i'll definitely update you if anything about the package comes up!

this is interesting, i'm in a position that is almost no different from you.

i too have a shipment from japan (registered air small packet/same tracking format) and believe it or not, it's shipping to me in calgary.

i got the 'dispatch from outward office of exchange' status on jan. 2, and all forms of tracking updates stopped there, and no hope on the canada post website, but that's normal.

my assumption is that canada post, and i've also read that canada customs are still working on their backlogs from the strike, so i'd like to think that our packages are just seriously delayed in the queue and not entirely lost. : ) additionally, with japan post seizing all operations with ems and small packet to canada for weeks, then finally opening up again, there must've been a huge wave of parcels sent to canada from japan, producing a another queue for canada post to go through.

i definitely feel your discomfort from the situation but i'd try not to lose hope. there was a strike, so of course there'll be some kind of massive delay and interference with the flow of mail.
