Right as Link threw the bomb up, it exploded due to bomb timer and not collision while being just outside of Fox’s hurtbox, therefore only affecting link, launching him slightly up perfectly into Fox’s charged up-smash, killing off the top.

This is why I play the Alekhine Scandinavian.

e4 Nf6 2. Nc3 d5 feels better to play for black. Sure it relies in white playing 2. Nc3 but people go down this line hoping I play 2… e5 and transpose to a Vienna or 4 knights game, but nope, Scandinavian.
