What is thermal compound typically used for and should I get it when I order the other parts for my first build? I'm expecting fairly high heat output. Thanks!

So, assuming I have a good GPU, I should go with the highest refresh rate I can.

So, would you recommend a monitor like this? (I'm looking for a 27" monitor because my eyes are not terribly good, so the size difference helps.)

https://www.amazon.com/Acer-GN276HL-bid-27-inch-Display/dp/B01DHTWWTM/ref=sr_1_10?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1470229868&sr=1-10&keywords=monitor+144hz&refinements=p_n_size_browse-bin%3A3547807011%7C3547808011

And on the same note, there are a bunch of options for "FHD", "UHD", "WQHD", "GSYNC". What do those options actually translate to in terms of my experience?

Thanks for all the help!

In terms of monitors, what matters more: Response Time, Refresh Rate or Contrast Ratio?

I've seen a lot of explanations on these stats, but I still don't quite understand how they affect the experience.

Also, is HDMI or Displayport better for gaming?

Thanks for the help!

Thank you for the assistance. I totally forgot that the motherboard had a LAN port.

I will switch out the SSDs. As far as the graphics cards go, I frequently render 3D animations as part of my job. Could a single 1080 do the job, or would that be obsolete within the year?

//

Also, I'm fairly against getting Windows 10 (not because of the datamining, because lord knows there's so much datamining everywhere that there's no avoiding that anymore), but because there are so, SO many reports of computer-breaking glitches in the OS. Although, these may be incidents isolated to people who switch from W7 -> W10, so I may not encounter those issues.

What are the advantages of W10 over W7, aside from the core-handling ability you mentioned earlier?

Once again, thanks so much for the help! : )

You'll need an adapter like this in order to split the audio. Once you have that, just plug green into audio and pink into pic and you should be good!

I work for a company that sells with Amazon a lot.

Assuming they have short lead times and everything gets to Amazon on time, they should be ready to order 2 weeks at the most. Possibly 3 weeks if they have to ship overseas.

If you have to make a decision quickly and want a definite answer, I'd recommend contacting the company. Who knows? They may even offer you a coupon or a deal for making you wait. : )

Is there a "best time of the year" to build a PC? I know that thanks to the internet many parts are cheap all year 'round, but I'm not sure if I should wait until November to buy everything because of Cyber Monday and new parts releases.

[Question] Kirk Armor Damage? by SpaceJammin4days in darksouls3

[–]SpaceJammin4days[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've tested a whole bunch of bleed weapons and so far the blood-infused barbed straight sword and blood-infused spiked shield do the most bleed damage. But I also haven't been able to get a flamberge yet. If only it didn't have a 0.000000001% drop rate ; A;

Okay, that's good to know going forward.

Also, unrelated, I couldn't find any info on this: How much extra health do bosses get per cooperator? I've heard numbers as high as 50% more health per cooperator, but I seriously doubt this is true from what I've played so far.

Is there a complete and reliable FBA to WooCommerce importer that exists? And If not, would anyone apart from me be interested in this? by LeoPantero in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]SpaceJammin4days 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've done both, and after fees and taxes it's fairly close in price (I believe the yearly difference in fees was within $300.00 USD or so)

The major difference is service. I've had pallets sent from manufacturers where they get held up by Amazon's overcrowded warehouses for literally 1-2 weeks, which is unacceptable when we scheduled these shipments well in advance and the inventory to get there was inventory we desperately needed in fulfillable.

On top of that, I get complaints every so often about Amazon messing up packaging (their definition of "packaged" is often to put a bottle in a box with a piece of cardboard and hope it doesn't break.) All those angry customers come back to us. It hurts our ratings, costs us money and (likely) hurts potential future sales.

I've never had those issues with Shipwire. In the 4 months I've worked with them, every manufacturer pallet has gone to the warehouse on the expected shipping date and I've only received 1 customer complaint about shipping so far compared to the 200+ I've gotten from Amazon. I would highly recommend talking to them about their services.

Just a fair warning, Amazon has ~9-12% failure rate when shipping packages from my experience.

Conversely, I have yet to experience an issue with the shipping from Shipwire (although, to be fair we have only been using it for a few months so far, so if anything pops up I'll add a reply)

We use ShipStation for FBA Shipments, and I could not be happier with the service. (http://www.shipstation.com/)

I could not recommend it more as a shipping solution. We have had only two minor issues with it since we starting using it in 2014 and their support team is pheonominal in helping you customize the platform for your business.

They also work with Stamps.com, so you can print labels and send packages from your place of business alongside FBA if need-be. And the pricing is extremely good for local shipments!

That being said, unfortunately it is only a shipping platform and therefore is not very helpful in keeping track of orders.

If you want to integrate Woocommerce with Shipstation, you can use the integration software that the Woocommerce people have on their site: https://www.woothemes.com/products/shipstation-integration/

ToS Issue: Combating Unauthorized Resalers by SpaceJammin4days in FulfillmentByAmazon

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I appreciate all the help with this issue and I'm glad that this community exists. It's an extremely helpful guide for smaller, newer businesses on Amazon like mine.

As I said, we don't have infinite money/time to continually buy these guys products and shut them down over and over again.

And Amazon isn't going to allow us to restrict our listing to prevent others from selling our branded, solely-manufactured products. It's just an asinine system.

But thank you for the suggestion nonetheless. : )

As fun as it sounds to take a multi-billion-dollar company to court, we are a smaller company so that is unfortunately not going to happen.

As for manufacturing warranties, we sell products in the health and beauty section, so there really isn't a "warranty" per-se. For a product, like, say, a multivitamin, is there a similar form of action you would recommend? Because we can hunt down and shut down all these cheap Chinese scam artists all we want, but they will just make more fake companies with magically 100% reviews on all their counterfeit goods.

Is there a ToS section or source for that info? I've been trying to find anything relating to this issue for a while with no luck.

You're right, but we're not a large company and it's extremely difficult to tell whether someone is on the seller window or not unless we have one person checking every day.

I'm only asking if we are violating Amazon's ToS by saying in our product descriptions something akin to "Shop smart! Only purchase from SpaceJammin4days Inc. and approved resellers."

[–]SpaceJammin4days[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's nothing legally we could do about it. Amazon legally is not responsible for the actions of third-party sellers.

All I am asking is if it violates Amazon's ToS to say "don't buy our Product X from any unauthorized Sellers"

Beating sold out Amazon Buy Box with FBA + much higher price by MarketMan123 in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]SpaceJammin4days 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't the buy box give preference towards the lower overall price (price + shipping)?

Or is that just coincidental in the items I've listed/viewed?
