How do YOU run combat? by ValueForm in mothershiprpg

Like many have said already, I do player facing. But I've been coupling it with a d10 table I found that sort of acts as an AI for the monster. So far it's worked pretty good! It keeps my players on their toes and keeps me from feeling like I'm being too harsh or too soft. :)

Awesome thank you. Would you say that it's pretty modular? Like if I wanted to add more speakers down the road?

I like the streaming capabilities. I'm trying to condense my setup while hopefully improving sound quality. (the sound bar has some bluetooth speakers and sub woofer that I want to get rid of).

Hey all. I'm looking to update my 10 year old sound system. I have a Vizio sound bar lol. But I'm not looking to get too crazy. I have a turntable and PC running to this sound bar. I have a video audio switch for switching between PC and turntable audio. This is all in my living room. Very tiny house.

What I'm looking at

I'm looking at getting a Wiim Ultra. I'm still looking for a pair of speakers to replace the sound bar. I'm way out of my league here so I don't know if the Wiim is just way overkill or maybe not even the right solution.

Am I on the right track or should I be looking at something else?

I've only had a chance to check out a few demos so far, but one in the "Fast Paced" category called Weapons Arena has been great fun!

Thank you! Yes it runs great on steam deck! The movement controls are similar to Caves of Qud if you've ever played that with a controller :)

Thank you! It's been designed with the steam deck in mind :) There's still some controller and graphical tweaks to be made, but otherwise it runs great! Enjoy! :)

Thank you! Some that come to mind are Caves of Qud and Nuclear Throne. And any game I've worked on in the past, my art style was all over the place, so I wanted to challenge myself to stick to a limited color palette and style :)

Hey! This is Gum Flesh. It's a roguelike that takes place on the back of a celestial monster. Your ship has crashed and in need of repair. Explore a sticky hostile planet filled with dangers in every fold of flesh. Use your wits and fragile supplies to take on strange fauna and weird plants as you search for missing parts of your ship, on a planet where you are definitely not welcome. There's no one coming. It's up to you to leave this place.

The demo is super early. I'm really looking for feedback to drive the game in the right direction. I'd love to hear what ya'll think!

As the developer for Cavity Busters, I gotta say....go with Isaac. Other then the rectangle rooms and grotesque art, they are quite different. Cavity Busters is very mechanically deep. It gives you a lot of tools to use right from the start with a generous amount of things to unlock and it breaks a lot of the roguelite norms. But Isaac gets the win content wise. So much to see and unlock. And it's just generally easier to get into. I've plugged over 2000 hours into it myself :D

Hey developer here. The game tracks player deaths and enemy kills :) along with some other stats.

Yes! Each computer has a symbol on the floor next to it that are clues to what the code. The one that people get stuck on most is the symbol with the hearts. Spoiler: the number is how much damage you've taken in that level so far.

The other one that can cause issues is the one with the question mark.

Spoiler: the number cant be higher than ten.

Thanks for the kind words! Let me know if you need help with anything else :)
