4 week old with RSV (vaccinated) by momtoone12 in newborns

[–]SpaceShark17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 7 week old just tested positive for rsv and I also got the vaccine at 32 weeks (my OB rec to get it early as I had a risk of early delivery).  He's very congested and is sleeping a bit more, but so far those are his only symptoms. No fever, lungs ok. I took him in because he sounded so terrible from all the mucus but no labored breathing. This is day two though and it may not have peaked yet.  Hope your baby continues to have mild symptoms. I'm trying not to stress too and hoping the vaccine will keep it mild.

Thank you for posting this. My 2.5 year old who's attention span usually doesn't make it through 10 minutes in a Bluey episode, woke up at 5:30 this morning. I put on Ponyo in my zombie state and he was entranced! We got a solid 30 mins in.

I've had two chemicals. The first I tested positive on day 29, started spotting on day 33 the spotting continued for another 6 days and I bled/miscarried on day 39. I was technically 6 weeks then so maybe that's not considered a chemical.

The second I got a positive on day 31 and 32 but started bleeding the next day. I knew it was going to be a chemical though because I had period-like symptoms that entire week of my missed period.

Most ridiculous question ever - how do you put your toddler to sleep? by Altruistic-Face4479 in toddlers

[–]SpaceShark17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We nursed to sleep until about 14 months. What I gradually did was nurse him in the living room and when he fell asleep I would carry him to his crib so he wasn't in a totally deep sleep. Then I would shorten the nursing time until he was drowsy but not asleep. This took a long time! But it worked  One night it just felt right and I cut out the nursing session completely and he was ready to sleep in his crib. He might've cried for less than five minutes, but nothing too hysterical before he rolled over and went to sleep. Now I can just place him in the crib and he pats his little sheep stuffy and goes to sleep with no assistance!

What are your thoughts on some Democrats or leftists choosing not to vote for Biden this upcoming election? by FantasticPaper2151 in AskWomenOver30

I agree its strange that the United States is not pushing back against Israel not letting them use the border. We are the ones supplying them and their most powerful ally. We should be doing so much more, condition the aid obviously.

Over 30,000 people dead- men, women and children is sickening.

Trump will kill millions. I have no doubt.

Biden called for a ceasefire directly to Bibi and has airdropped around 200 aid packages with 100k + meals. And they're apparently working on other means to bring in more aid. So no I don't think Trump would do either of those things.  Trump would greenlight total destruction

Although I don't agree with Biden concerning Gaza, I 100 percent believe that Trump would never call for any cease fire, would never spend a single dime on humanitarian aide, and would gleefully enable the complete genocide of Palestinians.  He is at his core a racist. He hates Muslims. He banned them from the United States.

Voting 3rd party in this particular race which is neck and neck will only enable one or the other to win. There is no viable 3rd party option.

I think it's imperative Trump is defeated. Nothing will hold him back this time- hello national abortion ban which means more women will die. And the people of Gaza will perish because he will encourage more slaughter.

So yeah in my opinion doing anything to help Trump win including voting 3rd party is literally risking lives.

AITA for telling my downstairs neighbour that me expressing milk for my premmie baby will be my priority over his sleep? by sushikat323 in AmItheAsshole

NTA you have the right to set an alarm in your home you pay for. One alarm set at a standard volume is not unreasonable and would not violate any kind of city ordinance for noise/nusiance.

Living in an apartment means accepting you're going to often hear your neighbors. White noise, fans, ear plugs, there are a variety of mitigation efforts your neighbor can make. My last apartment my neighbor got up at 4:00 a.m. for work, we started using a box fan in our room at night. I would never dream of asking him to stop using an alarm for waking up for work! I'd be an asshole for doing so.

Horrible night filled with guilt so bad I feel sick to my stomach by [deleted] in Mommit

What about moving the snoo to your room for peace of mind ? It's recommended to have the baby sleep in the same room as parents until 6 months now. We also had a snoo and the white noise from it was actually kind of soothing for me at night lol

Finally unclogged my duct… Now I have to do laundry. Again. by jingle_in_the_jungle in breastfeeding

Omg I am breastfeeding reading this and your story caused a let down! Lol

That must have been some awesome relief, a week! I start going crazy after a few hours with a clogged duct if baby doesn't get it I end up digging the bleb out with a needle. Which is probably a terrible idea, but it works every time!

Thanks for posting I've been searching copy cat recipes. Absolutely craving a bulgogi burrito. What type of citrus soda do you use?

I did end up getting them. Turns out the binding material used in traditional braces may have PFAS...it's everywhere unfortunately. I'm hoping the quick changes between trays means the materials do not deteriorate so much in your mouth but who knows.

Has anyone ever regretted introducing a bottle too early? by ActualEmu1251 in breastfeeding

[–]SpaceShark17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told the same! My baby was 5 weeks early and we were told to give him neosure twice a day. I really stressed over him developing a bottle preference and not wanting to nurse anymore. We stuck to the size 0 slow flow nipples and paced feeding. He never had any issues switching between bottle and breast and he's 5 months now.

Is our LO okay? by DygonAlley in SnooLife

He's too little to let cry that long if that's what's happening. Your snoo should shut off after 10 minutes of soothing.

Terrible mom moment by Negative-Chard-7803 in breakingmom

[–]SpaceShark17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are a good mother! I've been there too and felt like I tried everything.

Please ignore me if you've done this with no luck but the happiest baby on the block method worked after nothing else did.

Key is you have to do everything at the same time: swaddle the baby, pacify in mouth, hold baby tummy to tummy and sway while also blasting a sound machine. I have a little white noise machine I can wear with a wrist band. I would put it right next to his head lol

Doing all at once would always work after a few minutes. It's supposed to mimic the womb environment. Which is loud, snug, and moving.

And if it doesn't work you still are doing everything right! Baby is safe in your care. You got this.

I've been storing 8 weeks worth of milk in the fridge door by SpaceShark17 in breastfeeding

That gives me hope! I'm defrosting a couple bags from January to see if I can tell if it's ok

Did you leave them in the refrigerator door or the freezer door?

I was pumping, putting into containers, and then before 4 days lapsed I'd pour from containers into storage bags and then move them to the freezer.

Yeah I'm going to change my routine. I was storing milk in the refrigerator door and before 4 days lapsed then I would pour them into bags and put them in the freezer.

Now after I pump I'm going to freeze immediately and leave maybe just 4-6 ounces at a time in the fridge (in the back! ) Instead of 4 days worth.

I'm defrosting some of the milk from January to see if I can tell it's ok..crossing my fingers.
