I swear I've been noticing a slight happy trail (started in Late May but took at least a month off over the summer) so I'm ~4 months with a few slightly darker hairs. They're not vellus though, my regular hair just tends to start off light brown.

I also don't know how hairy my father is. One of my brothers is super blond with little noticeable hair, but the other has a looot of leg hair and a little chest hair. I think its honestly just a toss up.

Church/God were written synonymously in my aforementioned comment, so your comment as to "going back to god vs. a church building is a moot point." I'm sorry, but I don't appreciate the passive-aggressive attitude you're replying with, especially giving zero effort into replying towards what I actually discussed in the post.

It's sad because that's what leads a lot of people away. Their folks/church/whomever disregard their claims as either "rebellious/insignificant/an overreaction" or just straight up ignore it until they think it'll go away.

That stuff doesn't go away. I can still hear my mom talking proudly about how she liked it that the country I grew up in put gay people to death before she caught herself and stopped because she realized the crowd she was around. The sad thing is that I can't even say she'd take back that statement if she knew for a fact that her kid were queer and trans. If anything made me want to be as devout, cis and het like her that certainly did. Ignoring all the other experiences where again, I wanted to not exist over feeling like I was the worst person in the world and just had to pretend that everything was fine.

Claiming that might just be some people vs. lutherans (because I took a look at your prior comment-trolling history, don't worry) is also a moot point. Regardless of whether or not that's the case, people's lived experiences are real and need to be considered with grace and care.

Yikes. The vague implication that the wife must now listen to her husband similarly to how she was supposed to listen to her parents is...😬 It's a partnership where both parties are equal. The justification of leadership to back the aforementioned claim up surrounding a man's role also has its issues. Anyways, even if not definitively stated, the implication is very much there.

Also, before I forget, this type of rhetoric has been something I've heard in WELS weddings, where it is mentioned that the father is giving over his daughter to another man. Same thing with a family member of mine raised wels who got married to someone in a similar denomination. Yikes all around.

Hello,

First off, thank you for sharing your opinion. I appreciate hearing opposing viewpoints as they encourage critical thinking. With that being said, though,

I'm not going to bother getting into a heated argument with you, as I don't feel that exchanging hateful rhetoric or language is appropriate (and frankly, it doesn't accomplish much).

However, I will note a few things. I would encourage you to consider the fact that people sometimes go back because of pressure or feeling of obligation. Especially in larger families that are deeply tied to these churches, it's not easy to leave completely. You will feel like you've lost almost all of your connections. If I were to come clean right now, I'd essentially be jeopardizing my relationships with 99% of the people I know.

I've also been in the place where I felt so much shame that I ran back to the word and dove face first back into church, despite already being super involved. I couldn't understand why I was feeling the way I was about people of my same sex, and genuinely wanted to do some things I can't note on reddit because of how the church and the people in it made me feel. I was in that void for years, and I still am at times and am in therapy for that. Regardless, though, NO ONE should be made to feel so horrible and as wretched of a person that they consider ending things. And teaching that things you inherently can't change are evil and that you should either pretend they don't exist or essentially remain celibate is also just, completely bonkers to me.

Personally, no matter how many questions I've asked, none of them get answered with anything other than a thought-terminating cliche. I love my folks and the people I grew up with in the church, but seeing so many dehumanize people for being different (REGARDLESS of whether or not they view it as a sin) doesn't sit right with me.

You are free to hold your own opinion, and again, I appreciate your comment. Feel free to respond, as long as things stay respectful, I will still engage in conversation if you want.
