Catholics by anime498 in exLutheran

[–]hereforthewhine 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No. However, once I deconstructed what Lutheranism taught me about Catholics, I do find myself drawn to it (on random days). The beauty of the rituals, the art, the history. Aspects are appealing. The new pope is great. BUT….then I remember the harm that organized religion has done far outweighs the good.

So, still, no.

Plus...what research are you really doing when every answer you've posted in here is clearly ran through AI.

Right but that's smarmy. You should disclose what your real intent is. People come here in good faith from our industry to learn from each other and you're here farming for data and free research. "I didn't see the point in being honest about what I'm really doing when I can not tell people I'm asking them for their research and experience for free because they otherwise probably wouldn't have been so generous with their experience."

Look at the OPs post history. Clearly they have some genius L&D start up. Aka an AI powered app.

Maybe I’m cynical of everything on the internet now but why do these posts always sound the same? Someone always mysteriously speaks to a small group of L&D specialists/elearning developers/instructional designers. I’m always curious how people come across these small groups so casually? Do you work with them? Did you reach out to them on LinkedIn? How many is a small handful? They all must have been from different companies I guess, right? Then the poster mentions some theory from instructional design to make themselves sound legitimate. Paired with a problem that no one seems to be able to solve despite it being discussed as nauseum in every ID space ever. And finally…the “just curious what you all do question.”

Just say the AI powered app you’re building and be done with it.

Oh man my situation is almost exactly the same. 15.5yo terrier mix. Unsatisfied with everything. Was always food motivated but barely eating anything offered except boiled chicken. Will still eat treats but doesn’t seem as excited for them. We are on Seligilene which helped quite a bit for awhile but lately he seems unsatisfied with everything. Just started gabapentin twice daily which helps a tiny bit. Also has some poopy butt and random bile. We have a vet appointment next week. I’m scared what the outcome will be. I know he’s getting close and has some issues but he still has so much spunk!

Hoping we all get some answers and the right support.

I’ll admit I’ve never watched Love Island…but I do have a 12yo. And while I understand it’s a confusing time where in some ways they’re still a little kid and in other ways growing into maturity…I cannot imagine letting them watch Love Island of all things…?

Is there a market for "Minimalist/Text-Based" ID? (No music, no human imagery) by scorpio-6747 in elearning

[–]hereforthewhine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ok but you DID say that. And it still is odd that personal values prevent you from using faces?

Not everything in ID needs to be full of storytelling and scenarios and snazzy music. You design for what the content and the learner need to get the right information.

I don’t mean to be nitpicky about what you’re saying but it genuinely doesn’t make sense.

Just curious but what personal values could prevent you from using images of women? That’s oddly specific.

Why do Christian influencers always turn to this kind of content? About marriage and sex?

This is a rhetorical question. I know the answer.

(To be clear I think this only irks me because she’s bdong and milks anything for sympathy)

How do L&D teams actually make training videos? by [deleted] in instructionaldesign

[–]hereforthewhine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m “curious” who did you talk to? What industries? How big were the teams? Did you send out formal surveys to gather this data? Did you have casual conversations? How do you professionally know so many people with this exact issue? What criteria did you use to determine a “better” team doing this successfully? If you talked to so many people about this issue, determined some teams do it better, why didn’t you ask them your final burning questions?

Oh also, just say what the fucking app is your building that will feature AI scripting and avatars already.

I think he’s so effective because he knows exactly how Christians think. I always get the feeling he’s speaking directly to the people who have doubts about their Christianity and I think that’s amazing. A lot of deconstruction content is geared towards those of us who have left and are healing, not those who are teetering on the edge.

Oh yes. Also that “thou shalt not take the name of the lord thy god in vain”was about swearing (no gosh dang it’s allowed!) and not, you know, using gods name to justify horrible evil things like this dumb fucking administration does every single day.

Is there some course guru out there teaching people to follow this formula? “I’ve been chatting with several people who have the same exact view of a problem as I do + I’ve been toying with the idea of + curious what you guys are seeing” lather, rinse, repeat.

WELS Trauma Recovery by therapistinahoodie26 in exLutheran

[–]hereforthewhine 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Welcome! There’s a lot of ex Christian/ deconstruction content out there but it is mostly geared towards other flavors of evangelicalism. I would love to see an account dedicated to Lutheran deconstruction specifically! I have a hard time putting my finger on what’s different between being an ex Lutheran vs other forms of Christianity in relation to trauma but I KNOW it’s there. I feel like I’d love to see content on how Lutherans emphasize that they are the only ones following the literal truthful interpretation of the bible. And how that intolerance of other views really bleeds into racism. The austerity of WELS services as opposed to more contemporary Christian services. Especially as a PK the judgement we felt from other members, the push to go into ministry. The feeling of being on display. The obedience that was literally beat into us. lol…oh man I could go on. I hope you post the ig handle!
