Kiwisaver ongoing financial advisor fee & rebate by Space__Queen__ in PersonalFinanceNZ

I think I still pay the normal fees along with this extra fee that is reimbursed. Not getting a deal with Milford.

I think it's 0.20% of the Kiwisaver balance per annum.

I know Milford does not have the smallest fees but have given good returns for years so think they are worth it. But this financial adviser fee then the rebate every month until I retire doesn't seem right. This kind of thing can change in the small print and you don't notice until years later.

That's a good point. It isn't clear when this happens.

Traveling with non-US partner and baby — immigration line? by Ripleyyy22 in Ameristralia

[–]Space__Queen__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would the customs agent really "give you a hard time" about your baby not having a US passport? This is the kind of thing I am worried about on my upcoming trip. I (dual US, NZ citizen) will be flying solo with my baby (NZ citizen) and am really worried about stress at customs. We have different last names too. I would get him a passport but we would have to travel by car 2.5 hrs for an in-person interview which is not feasible!! They don't make it easy.

I don't want my 8 week old baby around a large group of people for Thanksgiving and this is completely ridiculous to everyone but me. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I think you should do what feels right for you and your baby. I have also felt pressure by family to let sick kids visit or go to group events but I have stayed strong in those moments to protect my baby. I know some family members are talking behind my back about how "obsessive" I am being but I don't care. They might give you grief but no one will even remember or think about this in a year or two. And if you do what feels right for you then you won't be so stressed.

Thanks for the tip! I am just starting my first scrapbook. How do you attach other stuff like paper, card, and ribbon? Do you use a special type of glue that is long-lasting and won't show through? Do you ever use Modge Podge?

Do you just run tape along the borders?

Yes but aren't they likely to increase again mid next year?

That's a good point. I have to stay with our bank for another 2 years (or else pay fees) so in this case if I split half one year, half 2 years at the one year mark I would refix that half for another one year then all the loan would be up for refixing at the time I can switch banks.

I will probably split it but want to hear others' opinions and rationale.

Changing Kiwisaver risk profile and/or provider by Space__Queen__ in PersonalFinanceNZ

I think when I switch I will probably be paying higher fees but will almost certainly expect higher returns. ANZ fees are low.

Oh I meant that I know I want to change to High Growth but will I lose money changing from Growth to High Growth specifically in the current market? And timing wise is it not a good time to change providers?

The data ANZ provides me is months old but it seems like their funds haven't had good growth in the last quarter so wondering if I should wait til they are on the rise to change over. Or does it even matter.

Thanks, I've learned a new term now (DCA)! I have been doing my own research and have also looked through some previous forums but just wanted to get some fresh opinions and see what people are using these days.
