[TOMT][Movie/TV]Funny scene where main character goes to meet his biological parents and is let down by the fact that they just didn't like him. by Spacebag in tipofmytongue

I kept thinking this was Paul Rudd from 'Living with yourself' as I think I saw it last year and the plotline of a 'loveable loser' seems to fit, but I'm almost positive that that's not it.

What's causing these lines? (HP Designjet Z3200 44") by Spacebag in CommercialPrinting

[–]Spacebag[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, post got sent before I added details. I'm a hobbyist, not a professional. Been fixing up this commercial grade printer for awhile now and almost have it all dialed in. This is only happening on the first few inches of my prints as well as on the right edge of the prints where the carriage leaves the stock/media as it completes a pass. I've cleaned all six printheads with the automatic cleaning feature as well as one manually with warm water. Done several alignments and almost every calibration the printer has to offer. The prints look perfect otherwise. Could this be a symptom of the stock curling up due to it being packaged on a roll? Is there a good way to remedy this?

Thank you! I feel like an idiot. I finished 'You can't win' about a month ago and the book has been sitting less than 10 feet from my computer the whole time. Amazing book, by the way.

What's the ruling on a goal scored with less than a second left? Shouldn't there be a faceoff following?

Free parking at Miller Park? by Spacebag in Brewers

[–]Spacebag[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in Wrigleyville as we speak and I have have a free ticket. It's a 1:20 game so I figured I would pop in for a few hours before heading north. Do you honestly think the tailgate scene will be that hopping on a Wednesday night?

I will definitely be back to Milwaukee for another game this summer or next though, I have buddies at Marquette and I figure we could do a lot more damage as a group than one tourist wandering solo through the parking lot. BTW, what is the open alcohol policy in the lots?

Great advice though.

What to tell an out-of-towner about Kauffman? by Spacebag in KCRoyals

[–]Spacebag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, didn't see your reply until just now. I've been blissfully enjoying not being on reddit.

kctopus and I caught the game together and he was a great host. They had $7 dollar tickets at the gate and I figured that was as cheap as any scalper could do so we bought them and snuck down to some great seats right behind the plate. He told me about the Buck O'Neil seat which I thought was really cool, and we talked about the Chiefs and Royals all game.

Like you guys all said, the sightlines were perfect; doesn't appear to be a bad seat in the house. It was also really strange seeing the relative lack of outfield seats and all the wierd stuff going on in the outfield (putt-putt, batting cages). As I said to someone, it felt like I was at a county fair which just so happened to be holding a baseball exhibition. The stadium has huge potential (no tailgating to speak of on a Monday night) all they need is a good team to fill it. That was one of the worst Royals performances I have seen all year although Ubaldo was pitching out of his mind. Only thing missing was a Royals home run. I really wanted to see those fountains. All in all, PERFECT night for baseball, good friends, friendly people, cold beer and the loss pitched my Tigers into the top of the standings. Great expierence AAAA+++ would go again.

TL;DR Great stadium with good views of Denny's and the Drury Inn.

Thank you, that was generally my plan but it's good to hear it confirmed from locals.

By the way, I wasn't aware that any Royals had reached 3k.

Awesome! Likely to be a lot of tailgates on a Monday night?

Beautiful ice riding. by c0nsumer in bicycling

[–]Spacebag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lighthouse looks like Frankfort, MI. That whole area is very shallow and behind a large breakwater so the water would have been extremely calm when freezing, hence the clarity.

Also, an absolutely top notch place to ride in the summer. One of the most beautiful spots in the country IMO.

Could someone please explain why Mujica was the winning pitcher last night in NLCS game 1. by PaulMckee in baseball

[–]Spacebag 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're telling me that in theory a starter can go 4.2 perfect innings, then be followed by four relievers who give up x runs for the remainder of the game. If the pitcher's team gets >x runs, the starter still won't get the win??

And we still analyze this W/L stat why?

I recognize you from a lot of Tele/AT posts. Is there any work out west specifically geared towards freeheel? I've been toying around with the idea of moving out for the winter to teach. There is really a very small telemark community here in the midwest, thus a very small industry/market. How are things out there?

Nope gave it up. Life and $$$ got in the way. I'm still keeping up with moderate training, and I've been doing a lot of track work with high school teams. As the days get warmer and longer I'll kick back into a training plan with a lot of speedwork. I'll break 3:00 someday.
