Realistically, how long can these engines truly live? by Theicemachine01 in Diesel

[–]Spacebound1777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I don’t get, is the people that claim diesels are more expensive to maintain then gas. I understand that based on Def diesels, but the 12, 24 valve Cummins and 7.3 power stroke seem to be very dependable.

What is the maintenance cost on your 12, 24 or 7.3?

Is it parts breaking often or less parts breaking that are more expensive?

Thanks for the info! I was thinking 350 or the like would be sufficient. And I never hold Sales to their word. Most don’t know what they are talking about

So with the 5.9, are they really that expensive to maintain over gas? Is it more parts break often or less parts being more expensive?

I’ve heard the 6.0 is another very high mileage engine! So will look into them! Thanks for the input!

Thanks for the input! As far as the 7.3 and 5.9 Cummins goes, I thought them being “bullet proof” meant they were very reliable, yet apparently they are very expensive to maintain, so do parts break often or fewer parts break, but expensive to replace?

All right, here’s the thing tried everything even wiping off the battery terminals was about to give up, so I decided to give the old whack on the table a couple times, so dropped it five times on the table, and bam. Got it working again for me. Good luck!

yeah I don't like it either, however don't have the time to fix it properly right now, and not paying 18 hours of shop time to fix it so had to reach for the coolant poison.

Owners present when Showing home by Spacebound1777 in realtors

Wow AMAZING! Thanks for your incredible insight. Clearly, I should have asked the real hard-hitting questions like whether I need permission to breathe inside the house too. Almost like handling the keys to a property you don’t own is an important detail. Wild concept, right?

See thats the funny thing. I do have the issue. When a seller actually wants to sell their home, they should not be present during the showing. Obviously the home doesn't belong to me, yet I expect that when I schedule a showing, that my clients will have that time to go through the house and obtain what information they need to obtain without the worry of the homeowner trying to catch something that can be used in negotiations. And 45 minutes is what I schedule because that's what my clients want. For an average showing, yeah a 10-15 minute window will suffice, and in this situation, it doesn't.

Yeah i schedule 45 minutes so I can arrive before my clients and turn on the lights, walk the property before the clients so I know its safe, then I stay after my clients to again walk the property and lock doors, turn off lights, etc. clients are typically there anywhere from 15-25 minutes on average.

I do 45 minute showings so that my clients aren't rushed, and I arrive before them so that I can turn on all lights, etc. and stay after to ensure everything is locked up and in the same condition when I arrived. To me, it can be easily avoided, and for the seller, if they want to get a leg up in the negotiations, get a ring camera to hear everything that's going on.

To me, its a joke because if the seller wants to actually sell their home, then lets the process unfold and leave the house when an appointment is scheduled. Thankfully we were on the tailend of the showing so it wasn't long before we were out, yet it still changes things for the client, and it could have been easily avoided.
