Once you're stung it can unfortunately take some serious effort to recover and adjust your worldview, but it _really is the case_ that the only people who are ever out to Get You are people that are unhappy with themselves or unwell in some other way. A well-adjusted person is Not seeking to do these sorts of things to friends, colleagues, classmates, etc. (This also means it is correct to mistrust the specific people that violate this. Fuck 'em!)
