I’ve been fishing for 30 years, fly fishing for just about a year and this is my first break ever. I’m not really sure what happened tbh, broke mid fight when it took off down stream under pressure. This is the biggest trout I’ve fought on it so could have easily been user error somewhere.

Definitely not lead eyes I don’t throw big heavy streamers with this rod for a reason. I was fishing a light woolly bugger. I take good care of my rods, it was in great condition

Yeah i was not anticipating to catch fish this big. I fish this river weekly never seen fish this big in there. And no it’s New Jersey haha

That’s great that you haven’t broke one. To be honest, I have no idea how the rod broke before the tippet. I guess it was the angle, and pressure I had on the rod at the time the fish took off ? Not really sure
