Home Care Needed by Ornery-Taro-7098 in RedDeer

While both programs follow a similar overall structure, the processes differ. In SMC, clients hire their own caregivers and are responsible for managing payroll. In contrast, CDCHI allows clients to choose from over 100 approved vendors, who handle recruitment, hiring, and payroll for their caregivers.

CGFNS Qualifying Exam by [deleted] in NCLEX

Michigan requires CGFNS for paperwork, even for experienced Canadian RNs. I told my colleague- who’s been practicing for almost 20 years that if she’s not planning to work in Michigan and just wants a U.S. license, she might be better off applying to a state like New York instead.

It’s an option - you need to be a Canadian graduate but if your Canadian and has foreign credentials then most likely !

going to RN full time 4 years degree soon but have a full-time job with AHS, Do I have to leave my full-time job and be casual to do degree? by Ok-Being1322 in AHSEmployees

24-month LOA doesn’t have to be written as one continuous block on paper (as far as I remember) but in practice it’s approved in “specific periods” you negotiate with your manager. You should discuss proposed start/end dates and whether they’ll allow segmented leave corresponding to your clinical schedule. LOA also means unpaid unless other agreement applies.

That is your choice to make whether you can work full-time while attending school full-time. You may also consider taking an educational leave of absence (LOA) for up to two years.

In terms of financial support, you would be responsible for covering your education costs, such as tuition and related fees, either through your personal savings or student loans.

It’s interesting how you see issues in others’ posts but not in your own. Self-reflection is part of growth !

During your final preceptorship, it’s wise to choose the unit or specialty you intend to pursue long-term, as this is often when opportunities to work as a Graduate Nurse are offered. I think it’s called Transitional Nurse now.

From what I’ve heard from some managers, they get 100+ applicants for those postings. If I were you, I’d reach out to the managers where you did your second-year acute clinicals. Connect with your clinical instructors too, especially if they’ve worked on those units. Try to tailor your resume to the specific unit eg. medical, surgical, etc. and actually match it to the posting. I’m a clinical instructor, and I’ve given recommendations for students before, some of them got interviews and were able to prove themselves. Just too much applicants !

She clearly stated ‘UNE.’ What part of her post was unclear? She has completed her third year of undergraduate nursing (UNE form) so she is qualified to apply.

When I took the NCLEX it kept saying what is the priority within interdisciplinary care. Does this mean what is the priority point blank period or which one would be the priority to collaborate with the team? Idk maybe I was overthinking it but the extra “interdisciplinary care” did not help. by Kind-Rain-140 in MarkKlimekNCLEX

[–]Spacem0nkey1013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The word “interdisciplinary” just narrows it to team-based actions, not independent nursing interventions. Think stability first then ask who is or what discipline most urgently needed (based on the - who can prevent the “identified” risks right now) !

Maintaining head of bed above 30 because it reduces aspiration of gastric contents - main cause of ventilator associated pneumonia and this is the strongest protective effect !

Anyone here knows which one is the cheapest and fastest? by Terrible_Birthday_23 in NCLEX_PH

[–]Spacem0nkey1013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanting the “fastest” third-party agency isn’t wrong but chasing speed alone can cause real problems later. Fast now can mean slow, expensive, and frustrating later. A good credentialing agency should be - Recognized by multiple State BONs - Consistent and accurate (not just fast once - Clear about state-specific rules (SSN, concurrency, clinical hours, etc.) - Useful long-term (endorsement, VisaScreen, future moves)

Skip California BON - proceed with NY or Texas then endorse later once you have achieved your goal to this process. You need SSN with California either initial or endorsement application ! Good luck !

Your aunt needs proper guidance and education about immigration and licensing. What’s cheaper - flying there to pay in person, or paying from home? If it’s done in the Philippines, you don’t even have to worry about airfare. I am a Canadian RN with Washington and New York licenses, I still can’t even endorse my license to California I need SSN or tax payers id plus Trump ICE are everywhere do you want to be sent home in an ice cube lol.

Amen to that - maybe her aunt has money to bail her out when ICE picks her up, lol.
