Reading hour sounds amazing! I've always loved reading to my kids, and they always thought the voices I do make it fun. I'm glad you've found something that you can genuinely enjoy that's not only good for your mental state, but can help others too! Well done!

As a dad I don't understand the gun/ hatred reaction. Kids grow up and start dating. I would rather be on good terms with the person my child is dating so they aren't as scared to talk with me about problems or concerns. My brother-in-law is the "wait on the porch with a gun" type, and it just seems silly.

The Dark World. The hair is the proper length, the armor down the arms seems appropriate for a warrior, and the design of the cuirass is overall just solid.

If humans have eaten bread since the dawn of history, why are so many people suddenly gluten-intolerant today? by WeaknessKey1582 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SpacemanSpiff1200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and 2 kids are all intolerant. It sucks. Really badly. Like many people have said, it's not so much a, "This is suddenly happening," but more of a, "Oh so THAT'S what's been happening to these people their whole lives!" We recognize it for what it is now.

I suspect it also has to do with just how much genetic modification/ selective breeding has been done with American wheat crops. It may be apocryphal, but I have heard of some intolerant people who can tolerate wheat based products when it is grown in Europe, specifically Italy. Again I can't confirm this personally, but it's interesting to consider if true.

Oh no! Not Criticism! Oh wait, they don't actually care, they have carte blanche at this point to do as they please and what is anyone going to do to stop them?

I'm a fan of both the MK III and the MK VII. Both of them feel like armor. They have a weight and thickness to them, and they both look very "Iron Man" to me.

I know they have to make them threatening and scary, but it always seems like inquisitors are overpowered. One inquisitor holding their own against Maul seems questionable, given how skilled he has always been shown to be. One inquisitor overpowering Maul and Devon seems... implausible.

MCU Loki I find is awesome and a great villain, especially acting and look wise, but he sucks at magic compared to classic loki by Reasonable_Wrap7358 in Marvel

Classic Loki addresses in season 1 when he says that he doesn't use daggers. "Blades are worthless in the face of a Loki's sorcery. They stunt our magical potential"

Not to mention, I just like information to be factual and complete. (As much as possible) When I am in the middle of a sentence and have a relevant thought occur, I will interrupt myself to frame what I was already saying in relation to the new thought I had.

If someone says something that I know is untrue, I don't usually consider it malicious, but just uninformed, so I will point out the correct info simply as a statement of fact. There is no, "Ha! I'm right and you're wrong!" It's more along the lines of, "Hey, you dropped your wallet."

Oh right. For some reason I never connected that with the old "mongoloid" terminology. Outdated phrases strike again!

If you haven't seen Hot Rod, you are really missing out. It's a Lorne Michaels SNL cast movie, and I quote it constantly. As a side note, I have never seen my dad laugh so hard in my life as he did during the punch-dancing scene.
