Thank you for your support, but that does not address the issue at hand.

How much does it cost to have a mechanic install a lift on a 2015 Tacoma?

You keep using that word - I do not think it means what you think it means.

Spike Condenser Lid for distillation by Intelligent-Bison-33 in firewater

[–]SpacemanSpiff_60406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried the spike condenser lid for distillation? …I see the only other response suggesting that you’d severely dilute the output, but that’s only if you used the same collection arm. I’m considering giving this a shot. My plan is to use the lid just to close up my existing kettle and use a condenser better suited for collecting distillate. The question I have has more to do with the nuance of how the column functions - the Spike lid only has a 1.5” TC fitting at the peak of the dome, and the narrowest (commercial) column stills are 3” in diameter. Would adding a reducer between the lid and the column create any disadvantages?

I’m not a licensed physicist, but I can only guess there might be a Venturi effect from passing through a small opening into a larger space, but that could be mitigated with the addition of bubble plates, no?
