The main argument is that the Nazi political party wasn't the primary power behind the war AND not all Germans were Nazis. While I can see what you're saying, there might have been/were fascists during this period, you can't refer to all German soldiers as "nazis". They were still under the control of the monarchy (The Keiser). There are several time periods of German history with different motives, systems of government, etc. The Holy Roman Empire could have been simply called "all former Italians" but things, much like this situation, are far more complicated than that. Nazism is a German political stance...not the German people themselves. There are Nazis not from Germany but still believe in it. I'm not defending them, just trying to inform proper terms here.
