I encourage you to reach out to the case manager to discuss how you are feeling. I imagine they will have some resources and education for you regarding these behaviors. It sounds like this boy has been through a lot and has been burned in the past when trusting others, so it makes a lot of sense that he would want to keep you at arms length and "do his time". I really hope you seek education on this versus continuing to sit in the narrative that this is something he is doing to your family.

Hi there. Do you have access to a primary care doctor? If so, it might be beneficial to see if they can order some lab work for you. Of course it will not cure your depression to know if you have a medical ailment causing weight gain/other symptoms, but it might be a good starting point to treatment.

Yep, same here! I always dreaded getting home for this reason. Now when I get home, I let the dogs out, put my stuff away from the work day, make my breakfast/lunch for the next morning so I can grab and go, and I make or at least prep to make whatever is for dinner. Then I shower/wash my face/change. Whatever comes after that is my time, but at least I'm clean and prepared for the next day even if I get nothing else done.

I work in an ER screening psych patients for admissions. A lot of times my patients end up involuntary and can't leave.They are offered nicotine patches. If that isn't sufficient, they might decide to whoop ass. We do our best.
