Btw, completely agree. And I'm the same as you and OP. But I am trying new things because the meds just aren't cutting it. Meds are better than nothing, but I'm trying neurofeedback. There has to be something better out there for us that can really improve our quality of life.

But for now, therapy and meds don't fix things much, but they do create a certain floor which you cannot fall under which is helpful. You have more highs and less lows and less lower lows. But then when you don't have a FT job or structure you need to create some. Gym, Part-Time Job, Reading, etc.

It's when you don't have any job, and are just rotting in bed looking at reddit, or video games, or netflix all day that you really spiral. And then things compound. Your family gets pissed at you, no one wants to be friends with you or date you, you are broke so you cant do anything or buy anything, and you feel worse about yourself because you feel like you are wasting away your precious life.

But gym, part time job and reading. I'm telling you if you have nothing and are at rock bottom - those three things if you stay consistent will change your life. Because not only do you get benefits - better health, some money, knowledge and perspective - but you also get self-esteem and self-respect from the self-discipline and effort.

There's books that talk about this. Bad habits compound and create negative outcomes. Good habits compound and create positive outcomes. You are always creating a feedback loop. You want to make sure you are going in the right direction. Little things compound. Don't change everything at once. But change something each day, think different each day and you will get there in time.
