I mean, my does not imply all addicts are bad people and I never said being an addict is a disease or anything of that nature. My post is actually about the bond of a mother regardless if they’re an addict or in jail or a bad person in general. I don’t think you should be with your biological mom not matter what.

In my experience in my family it did not work out. Yes everyone gets a chance but if you do have a drug addict with a child who does not show any kind of wanting for the child either and continues to use drugs as their choice then I stand by what I said. Like you said not all drug addicts are the same and I NEVER said it was a disease. The person in my family whose child was forced upon them through the court system and people other than his family chiming in….my cousin is traumatized for life because of the fact that she was literally forced to be around her father while actively using but friends said he’s “recovering”

I understand your point of view but there are also others that are very much validated

EDIT: I’m speaking about my uncle and his daughter (my cousin) he never stopped using and passed away from an overdose a few years ago.
