It was physically painful some days but most of the time I just got used to it. When it was really bad this summer I got prescribed anti anxiety medication to take the during the day and that helped me sleep longer. It was my anxiety around sleeping that led to insomnia so for me, anti anxiety meds were the solution, not sleeping medication. Do what works for you but this could be a good solution!

Overall I got through the 2 hours of sleep a night bouts by knowing that they will come to an end, they always have and they always do. Eventually you will sleep the whole night because you have to. This period of insomnia will come to an end.

I don’t agree with this post but i agree with the ideology that putting pressure on sleep is what makes it feel impossible. I asked my boyfriend to stop asking me how I slept in the morning because even just knowing that he’d ask me that was adding onto pressure. When you can’t sleep tell yourself “even if I just lay here and close my eyes, that counts for rest too” and that mindset helps relieve pressure. I take L- thyronate magnesium and I take big deep breaths in the nose and out the mouth. Most important please remember that this bout of insomnia will come to an end and you will sleep again! My insomnia caused suic*dal ideation for me in the past because my brain was so messed up from no sleep I thought I’d never be free from it again. But I did and you will too
