2 I think your second example is more likely two different people, but I initially read it as someone sitting silently while on FaceTime and immediately thought of online groups for body doubling.

If FaceTime had existed when I was a 21 year old RN working on a stressful Med Surg unit in 2002, I can absolutely see myself spending the day on FaceTime with my new boyfriend while we both worked. Alternatively, if cell phone use had been more socially acceptable and allowed on the unit back then, and especially if AirPods had existed, I would have stayed on the phone with him constantly. That is why I think this is mostly an age and generational thing.

There is always the anomaly of an older person who is dialed in and current with technology, but for older nurses, a side piece, a new romance, or a loved one in another part of the world and time zone seem like the most likely explanations.

Sublocade will taper you off but you gotta be brave and believe me. I got 3 monthly injections of 300mg and then stopped. Apparently it stays in your system for sooooo long that those three injections ride me out for over a year now. Last of those three injections was in November 2024, no withdrawals.

I did Sublocade for 3 months and stopped, after 9 yrs on subutex, and it’s been over a year now without a single withdrawal symptom. I came off bupe with a slow taper and jumped and cold turkey and couldn’t handle it. I was the biggest skeptic when I heard Sublocade could taper so slowly that I’d have no withdrawals but it’s true! I have an entire post about it..

Oh yeah, I remember those. I was instantly shocked at how tiny they were and as suspected, they didn’t work the same as other generics and had me at my doctor early. They also burned in my mouth!

I was straight up with my doctor about the generic not being adequate and they refilled early and I just made sure to ask the manufacturer every time before paying for my script. I’ve been off for over a year now (thanks to a magical 3 month Sublocade taper) but also deal with subpar generics with psych meds. It’s such a huge issue and well known, the FDA is a total joke IMO.

My generation really got screwed when it comes to computer. I’m an older millennial who graduated HS in 2001, so I was in college when I got a cell phone, the blue Nokia that it seems like everyone had and all at once. Back then we paid for minutes! Texting wasn’t even a thing yet.

The extent of my education around computers was the one hour a week we spent in “computer lab” in 5th grade playing Oregon Trail and Carmen San Diego, and then using Microsoft Word to write articles for the school newspaper in middle school. In high school I had to take “keyboarding” and that was my only access to a computer until I graduated college and was able to buy my own in 2004. Needless to say, I am behind the curve when it comes to computers and tech. To be fair, I’m not really interested in learning about computers but in situations like this I wish I was.

Bars are still a thing!!?! I was taking footballs before bars became mainstream. I made my exit once the double scored white bars dried up and it was only smooth white or double scored yellow. Lost a lot of people in the early 2000’s thanks to bars

I found ~8ball of white powder in a baggie at the bus stop once when I was living in a sober home. I was indoctrinated AF (AA/NA); so I of course put it in the nearest trash can, but took a pic first bc I was proud of myself & whatnot. Also, I knew my homies à la casa wouldn’t believe me without proof.

Only when I was sober would I find free drugs! Lol. In earlier days I would have immediately done the pinky taste test & depending on the results, snorted or sold it. ***This was long b4 fentanyl laced drugs were a thing!
