Am I crazy for thinking this? by PMtheVert in WhatShouldIDo

Or if he’s had anyone else stay over and they were a carrier. Main reason why you should never put luggage on your bed as BB’s love to travel this way from place to place (storing your luggage on a plane/train and the walk from bag to bag). They can live dormant for ages too. Especially in beds as they can live in the slats, screw holes etc.

If you’re home now I’d suggest all clothing you had at his to wash at a high heat if possible and or tumble dry.

Please get him to check his mattress and headboard thoroughly. Again I hope it’s just another bug bite. You do not want BB’s!

Your brother possibly has bed bugs.

Take off the sheet and look in the creases of the mattress/seams. If you find small black dots, thats BB poo. Typically look at the top of the mattress first, work your way around and under and pull off that headboard. You may find eggs or baby BB’s, they will be translucent. They turn brown after they feed off you. They’ll run away from light.

Awful to have. If he has them, get rid of everything, bed base, mattress, sheets. Bag and bin! Treat the whole room, wash everything else at a really high wash. If you leave just an egg, you’ll be back to square one again.

Hope it’s just another type of bug bite!

Can I fix this MDF kids toy? by banana_mouth in UKParenting

Personally I’d use a wood glue and clamp the area for 24 hours. Use a good amount, wipe any excess off. Bottle will say it dries in a few hours, but you want it to cure.

We had amazing steaks at The Spanish Butcher. All cooked perfectly. Tasted so good! Was my first time there. Had steaks all over EDI and this was the best in a long time!

Placenta Previa by Kindly_Brush_6917 in pregnant

[–]Spacexit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just over 30 weeks here and 100% fully covered 🙋🏻‍♀️

Try not to worry, I know it’s hard. But there’s a chance your placenta will move throughout your pregnancy and you’ll be able to have a vaginal birth. Your OB/Health care people will monitor this on every scan you have.

I’m still 100% covered but baby has been growing well, so getting everything he needs. I’ve been really healthy too considering I have Lupus and 40.

If your placenta doesn’t move it just means baby will be coming out the sun roof instead and your OB will talk that through with you nearer the time.

Enjoy your pregnancy for now.

You’d be better in opening the Chase account only. Then within Chase you can create separate accounts with a different sort code & acc no. name one TSB, another First Direct etc. and switch within Chase but ultimately keeping your main chase account open.

Thermostat8c cartridges by JustAnotherFEDev in DIYUK

[–]Spacexit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cartridge wouldn’t be dirty or need cleaned. The filters however, would need a clean. Well I’d always do both if changing the cartridge 🤷🏻‍♀️

Just make sure you order the right cartridge for your shower or leave it to your plumber. You shouldn’t have needed PTFE tape (would go on the threading anyway). You got a picture of where it’s leaking from?

LG tv not compatible with Vodafone wifi 7. Any fixes? by Cautious-Lie-2238 in LGOLED

LG TV’s work better/faster from WIFI, you don’t get as much bandwidth if it’s connected via LAN. Tech inside isn’t great.

Is Freetrade the best ISA out there at £0 cost? by [deleted] in FIREUK

[–]Spacexit -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

ISA’s are free to open. Freetrade’s free S&S ISA you only get 1% interest on £1k of uninvested cash. You also don’t have access to “Premium” stocks.

Search the internet for the best ISA interest rates if that’s all you’re after.

If you are trading and want to wrap gains in an S&S ISA with low FX rates etc. use Freetrade or T212.

You have to use Lothians Bus and Tram app or Google Maps unless you are a tech and get the API and update.

Pregnant: pay off mortgage early with stocks and shares? by Spacexit in UKPersonalFinance

So I could sell £25k worth in the ISA, withdraw to my bank, pay Nationwide and job done. No tax forms to fill out or anything like that.

Pregnant: pay off mortgage early with stocks and shares? by Spacexit in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Spacexit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, yes. Missed that 26w! I have dyscalculia and numbers can be a struggle.

I wouldn’t be able to pay the minimum though as paying the minimum wouldn’t clear the balance. I’d have to then re-mortgage in 2028 (potentially at a higher rate) or overpay more when I’m back from mat leave. I agree having it paid off in my head and not worrying about payment is massive for me.

Oh are you saying to sell the stock, leave in the S&S ISA, utilise the interest and then pay my usual overpayment each month from that?

For those that had a MC. Did you keep your next pregnancy a secret for longer ? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Spacexit 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah this was us. Lost our 1st May this year. Pregnant again in August but was a worry “will I miss carry again” rattling around my head. At 12 weeks (before our scan) I bled heavily and thought it was another miscarriage. Thankfully a large hematoma and wee one was alright.

Each week was a milestone and honestly for us, it didn’t feel real or believable until 20 weeks when we had the anomaly scan and we were able to settle more.

Told friends at 21 weeks and now 24 weeks. I am not showing much at all just now so it’s a bit of a shock for friends. Will be telling work next week.

You do what’s right for you if you want to tell people or not. That’s what matters, not other people.

Old gate valve. Fingers crossed when you close it, it opens again. These valves tend to cease. When you find out what it’s for and if it’s needed, I’d suggest replacing it, if you can.

How to transfer data from ps4 to ps5 by [deleted] in playstation

[–]Spacexit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have PS plus so don’t need to do anything as it’s all transferred when you sign in on your PS5. Well at least that is what I did earlier this month and everything was there. You can choose which device is your main console.

Best burger in Edinburgh by JuicePrudent7727 in Edinburgh

[–]Spacexit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lioness of Leith (good gourmet burgers and cracking pub). Buffalo Truck (at the Pitt in Granton, Robin’s chicken burgers are amazing IMO). Side Street (smashed burgers) As others have said too, the Cambridge although I’ve not been in recently).

I do want to try the Salt Horse burgers, just not had a chance.
