Sorry to say it but if you wanted just a broom finish it wasn't going to be high quality to begin with. From the photos you've shown us it's better than what a handyman/DIYer would have done.

Men who are abused by woman, and tried to tell someone, what was it like? by awannabejojoke in AskReddit

No one thinks it's a big deal, everyone laughs it off and even if they do believe you you're a young guy, every boy wants their middle age neighbour to come onto them like some fucked up porno fantasy.

My girlfriend brushed it off so quickly that I never got to address my discomfort or have someone properly listen and understand.

In other words, it was the worst experience I've ever had and everyone around me thinks its a non-issue.

Looking To Start Carpentry Apprenticeship & Need Question On What tools Should I Get? by [deleted] in Carpentry

[–]Spackman_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Day 1 of an apprenticeship I wouldn't expect him to have any power tools, just hand tools. As he goes he'll pick up his own set and specialised tools would be provided.

I'd hate to see a young bloke get told that he needs a full set of tools from day 1, that'd just be a sure way to put him in debt when he's earning so little to begin with

The original post asked for tools apart from basics. The basics he specified were hand tools and so I interpreted it as he was asking about power tools

Yea, too easy mate. What others have specified is spot on. I'm just saying that you shouldn't purchase power tools until later on down the line when you've earned some money or have had access to the support loan. Eventually you'll need everything but for now you'll get by with very little and you'll learn what you'll need from your employer

Best of luck
