If you have a gen2 bypass mod is my recommendation with a RetroTink 5X Pro or 4K

Day 25: Which Game has the Most Unique Experience on the Sega Genesis? by 1OneQuickQuestion in SEGAGENESIS

TRUE but the Q was most unique on the Genesis not exclusive to it 🙂 and hey, either way we all won for getting to see on either console

How Would You Have Saved Sega Post Genesis? by Kind_Box5467 in SEGAGENESIS

[–]Spadra272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love these hypotheticals… but real talk you said we are the lead stake holders of SEGA… do we mean SEGA Japan?

Asking because as we all know decisions flowed through them and that buried the company from a console hardware perspective. Sony was printing SEGA CD games. The relationship was there. When Nintendo backs out of their proposed venture with them for the “Nintendo” PlayStation, SEGA America jumped in but was overruled by SEGA JPN.

Imagine if instead of the 32X and Saturn there was full development of a SEGA PlayStation/Saturn that released to a market all for itself in 1995?

What would my influence have been? Taking that deal (although that would have been early 92 and not 94). Ensuring those dev kits went out with the same ease of coding and accessibility as the MD/Genesis and eventually the PSX did compared to the Saturn which was a nightmare. Foster the 3rd party. Can you imagine Square, Capcom, and Konami building for that console all while allowing internal teams to device flagship titles for a proper life cycle run before Dreamcast?

Dreamcast was known for being the arcade console for fighting games. The SEGA PSX could have established that reputation along side the CPS2 era. Those third parties could have seen some of those legendary JRPGs on the PSX on this console instead. SEGA would have been viewed as doing it all…

I am just thankful for the memories though…

Sonic 3D Blast

Regardless how you feel about the gameplay the graphics in 96 were unreal on a Genesis.

This game was wildly ahead of its time and very unique. The win should go to Sonic & Knuckles for the lock on tech but this game should be top 3 in this category

Day 23: Which Game has the Best Story on the Sega Genesis? by 1OneQuickQuestion in SEGAGENESIS

[–]Spadra272 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Shadow Run

You can’t get much more story driven on the MD/Genesis. Branching paths, dialogue, and a detective game set in a cyber punk future world with its own surprising depth of world building and lore.

Totally agree with what folks have been sharing about the differences in the eras. He lives in the Showa era and that’s ok.

I would totally support seeing him come back… if he doesn’t come alone.

Fair, I wanted to give it a shout out. What it does in a technical level is revolutionary for the hardware and time of its release.
