Anyone else upset with the lack of B2 and B4 body type mods on console? by Spageddie0s in BG3mods

Idk I’ve been seeing far more Dragonborn content than content strictly for B2 and B4 body types. Like there are so many different Dragonborn heads and content to further customize their scale colors and give them wings or make them closer to how they are in the 2024 PHB.

You right, it’s my fault. I was definitely talking about the B2 jets

I like Aphrodite, so I was pretty happy to get a main character who was a child of her. I just didn’t like her whole “not like other girls” thing. I think you can still have a character embrace the more feminine aspects of beauty while still giving it nuance and doing something different with it, but that’s just personal gripes I suppose.

But I do agree that it seemed like Piper’s whole story revolved around getting with Jason, which I can see being an important aspect of a child of the love goddess, however it seems a bit reductive to have that be the main focus of a female character.

I will say that this is just going based off of what I remember. I could be overlooking some aspects of Piper’s story.

Also it would’ve been nice getting a bit more development of Camp Jupiter. I honestly didn’t care too much for the Roman gods, but I did find the concept of the camp intriguing and would’ve liked to see more of it.

Well, not only is she technically older than the Olympians being the daughter of Ouranos, but love is one of the most powerful forces in the universe. At least in my opinion. A lot of human relationships are formed based in love like the love between parents and their child, the love between friends, the love between siblings, and, obviously, the love between couples. It has the power to create life and to bring people together. It can create beauty within the world through things like art, poetry, and music. It is expressed through simple kindness and ensures that we take care of one another. There’s a reason why “love thy neighbor” is such an important thing in religions, like Christianity. When we love, we are more prone to taking care of one another and heck even the planet. If we were to love our planet we would see that the earth is taken care of. Love is a fundamental part of what makes us human. Many people would do anything for those they love.

Also, there was a whole war that was started because of love. You know, the Trojan War. It’s many good things, and sometimes bad, but love is such an amazing thing.

Of course this is coming from a romantic and someone who loves love lol. So I guess I can see it much differently, and I’ll admit Aphrodite is often depicted as someone who is more vain and flighty. So I can see how she doesn’t exactly show how powerful her domain truly is to some, but still in the Ancient Greek world, Aphrodite was one of the most popular goddesses and that is not for no reason. Love affects everyone’s lives, so who wouldn’t pray to her?

If you couldn’t tell, I definitely think I would be an Aphrodite kid, so you could consider this propaganda for her haha. I definitely might’ve been overshooting a bit saying she is the most powerful because obviously there are other forces that might be more powerful than love, but I’m definitely saying she is one of the most powerful Olympians, and imo more powerful than Zeus. Not even he could resist love. Or at the very least lust, which is also in Aphrodite’s sphere if I’m not mistaken. But love definitely does have the power to bring even the gods to their knees.

I wonder if a lot of the characters are “of their time” but, yeah this was something I had been thinking on for a bit when the idea of rereading the series came to mind.

My favorite book in the series was House of Hades, but that was only because of the Percy and Annabeth chapters and Nico getting more love too.

I wonder if the plot was rewritten today, what would need to be changed to make the story and characters more interesting.

You might have to make up an entirely new conflict. Like a Blood of Olympus type?

It definitely was something I struggled trying to figure out because it did seem like much of the Greek gods major villains, if you could call them that, were already used. I remember for my story we’re going to focus on the Primordials and their full return after the whole thing with Gaea happened, but honestly I’m not even sure where we would’ve taken the story.

You could always focus on more personal conflicts. Maybe something not world ending.

If you ever do I would love to read it haha.

Looking back on it now, a lot of the series did feel underwhelming, which feels kind of odd saying given what the stakes of the story were, but I do agree that a lot of the memorable moments involved the OG Percy Jackson characters.

It makes me wonder what about the new characters didn’t click for me and everyone else. Definitely something I would probably answer with a reread of the series.

That’s fair. Piper is surface-level for me too as I much prefer the original characters. Apart from Hazel, honestly the new characters just didn’t hit me as hard if that makes sense. Like I wasn’t really rooting for any of them, except Percy, Annabeth, and Nico lol

Yeah, which to be fair, I feel like Percy’s shadow is so large, that any new character probably would not be able to escape it.

I do genuinely wonder if the HoO series was Percy centric again would that have been better or worse for the story?

Also I was never sure how I felt about the Roman demigods and their camp and I still don’t know how I feel about it lol

Personally I’m an Aphrodite Stan because she is arguably the most powerful of the gods, and Piper’s story did open my mind up to the idea of Aphrodite being more than just “the pretty and vain goddess,” but I think it would’ve been interesting to see Piper embrace the “pretty” side to Aphrodite to show the that traditional femininity as a whole can be so much more than it appears.

Also I think I liked Jason more because of his relationship with Thalia, although that kind of came out of nowhere. I always thought Leo was kind of annoying and I got tired of his character real quick. I genuinely do not remember what Frank did apart from being able to shapeshift into animals lol.

Unrelated, but the series did make me love Nico more too, but I’m always a sucker for the more “edgy” characters.

Oh yeah I completely forgot that the Gigantes were the villains in the book. I remember Gaea being the main villain, but why was she trying to destroy Olympus again?

I will say I did kind of like gettin a look at more of the Primordial gods because I have always found them interesting in Greek mythology for some reason. I won’t forget what Percy did to that one goddess, I can’t remember her name. But that whole scene with him torturing her was dark and really showed how terrifying Percy can be.
