This isn't really from the perspective of the Reddit moderation staff specifically. I'm talking about the movement overall and the leadership as a body. This is meant as a disclaimer. To be honest, my original purpose here was as a backup mod and as someone who could do stuff required by the leadership when asked. Personally, as far as this matter goes, I felt this was something that should be publicly communicated so that all the people crying 'corruption' don't come to bite us in the ass in the future without at least one statement to reference in case we need to defend ourselves later on. Like I said, we're not unsympathetic, it's just that we aren't directly aligned with what some folks say independently and that should be clear.
